August Happiness Challenge03 August 2016
Welcome to my third post for this August Happiness Challenge. This is really fun. Please come and join us. Get in on the fun.
I have to say that I am happy with the simpler things in life. I am glad that my child-bride is the same way.
I see too many people in my life who are struggling to make a buck and they miss the simple things. My child-bride Suzanne takes great photographs of beautiful flowers and bugs and even snakes. She does not need all the fancy equipment that so many photographers think they just have to have.
Of course, if someone were to give her a million-dollar gift certificate to B & H Photo/Video, she would somehow find a way to spend it.
Those who have to have the biggest house, the newest car, a dog with a pedigree, etc., miss out on the simple things.
When I was growing up, from time-to-time we would have beans, stewed tomatoes, and corn bread. When we did, my father would always say, “I wonder what po' people are eating tonight.” His remark was meant to underscore the fact that we were having a cheap meal and it was still wonderful.
I'm happy for, and thankful for, every bite I put in my mouth. And, if you have seen a picture of me lately, you can see that there has been a whole lot to be happy for.
Thanks for stopping by. Take a look at the video below and see how one can mess up and still have fun.
More people need to be thankful for the simple things.

DeleteYou're so wise. The August Happiness Challenge is very flexible, very few rules, and for me, it's value is to remind me at the end of the day of that thing that made me smile. So often those little joys can get lost, can't they?
