Word High July 04 July 2016 gunita

Today’s word gunita means memory or recollection.  I think this is very appropriate for today our country’s Independence Day.  Today we should remember all the veterans who fought for our freedom.

Jared Points the Way for David
We are a two Blue Star Family.  Our oldest son is a chief petty officer in the Silent Service, which is the submarine corps.

This is a job I could not do.  I am very proud of him and his eleven years of service.

His younger brother is in the toughest job there is.  He is a Marine.  He is a High Expert shot which means he can hit a target the size of a quarter from 500 yards with a rifle.  I could not hit that from five feet away.

July the Fourth brings lots of recollections of July 4ths gone by like eating homemade ice cream and watermelon, swimming in my uncle’s pool and getting sunburned beyond belief.  Yes, that was a good memory.

Thank a veteran every time you see one.  Many have never heard a word of thanks.
