Word High July for 12 July 2016 Word Takipsilim

Click here to learn more about this blogging challenge.

The word today is Takimsilim, which means twilight or dusk.   Around here, that can be a very dangerous time of the day.  You see, snakes can hide much better then because you think you can see okay, but shadows can hide all sorts of problems.

This is the time of day that you think is safe, but you really should have a flashlight.   Or, have the yard light on.   This is the time of day that made things so spooky for my father and Ott when they went into the trailer where the woman had died.

This is also the time of day that sees an increase in mosquito activity.  This is also a time of day in the summer where you can get sunburned very easily.  Don’t go outside without your Skin So SoftBuguard with SPF.

This can be a very peaceful time as well.  This is a good time for a family to gather around the grill and cook something.

This July 15th, in honor of our angel baby Dorian’s 23rd birthday in heaven, we will be giving all of our books away free.  Please download and read these books.  We have had to change the way we make money here since I suffered three strokes back in May.   We no longer sell Avon door-to door, but you can still buy it on our website .  You can also help us by purchasing things from our Etsy store

Special Notice

You can help us by downloading our books free.  Then, read them.  Every quarter, Amazon has a contest to determine which 100 authors in the United States have the most pages read.   If we make it into the top 100, we will share a part in a pool of money Amazon sets aside for the top 100 authors.

Please also give us feedback on our books and leave your honest review at Amazon.  We thank you.

  1. It is also a good time for me to hide inside, but the mosquitoes find me anyway. Love you.

  2. Indeed dusk has its bad and good sides too! Great take, David!

    1. This is true. The only real bad part about dusk around here is that is when the mosquitos fly and the snakes crawl. Suzanne is mosquito bait so they stay away from me while I kill the snakes.

  3. Nice post David. You're right there is so much activity at Dusk. Over here in the UK we don't suffer with mosquitos. It is usually wasps.

    1. Thanks Davy. We have wasps, too. I have found that if I spray them with Windex while they are flying, they land and I can step on them without using poison.

  4. I had to giggle on how different your post is from Suzanne's, smiles. Have a beautiful day David. (give me the library, keep the snakes and 'skeeters)

    1. That is the funny part. We sit side by side at the desk typing. Sometimes she is typing the same exact thing I am and other times we are typing polar opposite things. She saw the cute little pony and I am reminded how much we have to look for those little slitherers in the odd light.
We used to think that cats would keep the snakes away. I once killed a coral snake while 19 cats watched me. Then, they ate the snake.
