Hello folks, it is time once again for Friendly Fill Ins.  This is a fun meme where bloggers are asked to fill in the blanks.  Grab a cup of coffee and join the fun.

  1.     One quirk I have is  I absolutely have to have our car with us wherever we go. This all started when I was at North Myrtle Beach on a retreat with a church group. Most of us rode down on a hot, broken down, church bus.

Some rode down in air conditioned cars.  Because I was not in charge of what I ate, what I drank, or when I could leave, the onset of diabetes that I had been delaying, unbeknownst to me at that time, came rushing on. Ever since that time I cannot stand to be any place I cannot leave when I get ready.

2     2     . My favorite comic strip is Pluggers.

3. I am really happy  when I am inside in the air conditioning. Add in a tomato sandwich and a tall glass of iced tea and I am one happy redneck.

4. If I could go anywhere on a road trip, I would go to  Nowhere. If we had unlimited money, my child-bride Suzanne and I would hop in our little Zoomie car and just drive to all the little places that no one else goes to.

Give me the back roads and an ice chest and we would just drive all over the country visiting the small towns.  Places like Gluck, South Carolina, Bonus, Texas you get the idea. .

Just one more week and we get to go get our youngest daughter, Magpie.

She will be home for a few weeks and then it is back to the island.  We have not had her home since just after Christmas.  We have not had our Marine home in over a year now.

I have discovered that if I want to hide something from the kids all I have to do is tell about it in a blog post or make a video about it.  That way they will never see it.

This reminds me of a time I decided that it was pointless to try to hide a Valentine’s Day gift. I knew the intended recipient was better than Monk, Columbo, Perry Mason, and any other detective rolled into one.  So, I just left the gift out in the open.  That was the one gift that was never found.

Have a great week.

  1. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am not a fan of the bus, but that is usually how we get to NYC because neither of us likes to drive on highways. It is 4 hours and I sleep most of it. I know what you mean about kids not reading the blog, the only one in my family that reads mine is my Mom. I have not heard of that comic. Have a great weekend.

    1. It has been a long time since I rode a bus. I think the last time was when our high school band went to Disney World. We rode through the night then went to Disney World. Everyone was worn out and cranky. That is NOT the way to do it.

  2. That is too funny about the gift! I miss Pluggers! I really need to take paper again to read the comics. Inside with the a/c sounds great, especially right now when it's been so hot. Your #4 sounds like a good idea!

    1. Why take a paper when you can read the comics, the only good part of the Houston Comical, free? gocomics.com and kingdomcomics.com

  3. I would definitely prefer my own car to a group bus, too. There's just something about being able to leave when you *want* to that makes a difference.

Back road trippin' is the best! We tend to do that, too - we pick out-of-the-way places that won't be overrun with tourists, and it's so much more fun! Plus then we avoid tourist traffic, that always makes it more fun, too. ;)

I giggled over how you can hide things in plain sight! I could do that with Princess Nagger and the hubby - they tend to be lost in their own worlds all the time. Little Dude, on the other hand, doesn't miss a trick! None of them read my blog, nor do my parents, siblings and other relatives. I think they still don't understand what a 'blog' is. ;)

    1. Suzanne reads everything I write. She is my proofreader and editor. Punctuation and spelling are not my friends. We sit side-by-side at a long desk I built for just that purpose. That way we can help one another. She helps me more than I help her.

She hears my videos so much while I edit them, she can quote them in her sleep.

If it ain't on Facebook, my kids don't know it exists.
