Share Your World – 2016 Week 44

What was your favorite subject in school?

Band.  We had to learn a little music and stuff, but it was fun getting to play music and perform.  I was a tuba player and trumpet player.  It has been over thirty years since I picked up a horn.  I doubt I could figure out which end to blow into today.

If you could have a servant come to your house every day for two hours, what would you have them do?

Suzanne does all the chores.  I just sit in my chair and type.  I think if we had a servant, we could have him clean the house and wash clothes.  Really, just whatever Suzanne needed him to do.

Where did you live when you were in the third grade of school?  Is it the same place or town you live now?

When I started third grade, we lived in Norcross, Georgia.  I went to Rockbridge Elementary School.  The second part of the year, we moved to Inman, South Carolina, and I went to James H. Hendrix Elementary.

Now, we live in Gulf Coast Texas over a thousand miles away from there.
In your opinion, list some places that are great for shopping?

Amazon.com

Back in the day, when electronics were electronics, I loved to shop in Radio Shack.  I would buy all sorts of things like diodes, resisters, capacitors, bandages, and more.  I would get home and solder these together to make stuff like telephone hold buttons and a phone switching center.  It was loads of fun.  Today, it is sad that you can’t buy that stuff.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Early this morning, we were able to Skype with the greatest Marine in the world.   He is back off the carrier and glad of it.  They rarely let the Marines go top-side.  He spent most of his time in his office on the boat.

Also, I am glad that our baby child found that book she had been looking for.  She had searched everywhere for it for months.  She looked in her old apartment and took her new apartment apart bit by bit.  No book.  She went back over it.  No book.  She looked in every box under everything she could think of.  No book.

One day, she made her bed, left her room and locked her door.  She is the ONLY one, other than maintenance, with a key to her room.  She came back and the book was in the middle of her freshly-made bed.  Spooky, huh?

I am glad things are working out for our other daughter, too.  Or at least they appear to be,

The ulcer on my foot is smaller.  Maybe only a few more weeks of this cast and I will be good to go.

This week, we are looking forward to our 32nd wedding anniversary.  We don’t have any plans for the day.

The last time we had big plans, I ended up spending nearly two months in the hospital, starting just before our anniversary and ending just before Christmas.  That is right; Thanksgiving was spent in the hospital.

I look forward to rolling out our How to Manage Your Monkey Course on our anniversary.

Also, IF our video Herbed Livers !! gets just three more views with ads, I will treat Suzanne to a banana split at Dairy Queen.  That is about as big a splurge as we can make on our limited budget.

Have a great week and see you soon.

  3. Happy to hear your daughter found the lost book. Strange how it showed up like that. I hear you about spending Thanksgiving in the hospital. Happened to me a few years ago, too, and it was my birthday! Not fun. Hope this year all goes smooth.
