Here are the fill-in-the-blanks:
1. Peace Is hard to come by in today’s troubled times.
Too often, we see people talk about getting along. We hear one race screaming peace and equality while pointing out that they are one race and they think I am of another.
Peace will only come when we completely do away with observations of race, when we no longer have check marks to fill in because there are no questions asking our race. As long as we try to have signs in two or more languages, some will feel there is a divide. Our community is filled with Czech people. No one would dare use the N word in public, but no one seems to have a problem using the G word (Gypsy) which is the same as the N word for we of Czech descent. Most people do not know that. People think nothing of saying Paddy Wagon. That is as bad as saying N word wagon. It is a racial slur. There are so many others.
2. I need to write more about tithing, but I keep procrastinating.
A preacher once told me that the hardest sermons to preach were those on tithing. On the one hand, they are letting their people down if they don’t talk about it. On the other hand, it sounds like they are “always harping about money” if they preach one sermon a year on it.
Tithing is a very big part of obeying God. However, it is a very hard subject to write about and make sense.
3. A friend is always there for you.
The old saying, “A friend knows all about you, but still likes you anyway” is
oh so true. Suzanne is definitely my best friend. She is always there for me. My many other friends from years ago have all kind of moved on with their lives. We touch base every now and then.

4. I _should NEVER try towalk around three grocery stores.
A few years back, my doctor had my foot almost completely healed. It was so liberating. I got up and walked. This was the first time in years I had actually walked. We had to go to three different grocery stores. I could have waited for a handicapped cart but, rather than wait, I walked.
All along Suzanne was telling me I should wait. But I did not listen to her and I opened my foot back up. Now, I can’t walk. I am not allowed to. I would love to get up and run a marathon. Truth be known, I could not even run out to the mailbox.
This week, I would like to say thank you to the hostesses of this meme. Every week they come up with some great questions. They are very faithful visitors and commenters to this blog and often watch my videos.
Have a great weekend.
By the way, I have shared with you Suzanne’s one and only kitchen flop.
I would like you to watch and see the story of Suzanne’s crowning achievement in the kitchen. In this video, I tell you how she received the highest honor my father ever paid anyone.

Regarding #4: You've got that right! No more walking through 3 stores in one day, or even one week, for that matter. You have to be a good boy so that you can keep your foot. :) Love you.
ReplyDeleteYes, you were right then and you are right now. Love you. Zing! Zing!
DeleteGood answers, David. Peace is such an elusive thing to man.
ReplyDeleteMy Grampy was so strict about tithing. Very old school. He was my hero, too
Adult friendships are so different than childhood ones. We do move on, change, grow...I guess it is supposed to be that way.
Oh, my. Take care of that foot! Listen to Suz. She is pretty smart! Prayers...& peace.
Thank you for stopping by and commenting. Yes, Suz is pretty smart and she tries to take care of me. Your Grampy sounds like a good man. Tithing is so important. A full tithe (10%) paid to the church is what God commands. We will be addressing that in late January and February on How to Manage Your Monkey.
DeleteI've heard a very good teaching on tithing. It was very biblical. I totally agree with #3! I'm sorry about your foot. I like your accompanying images. I'll check out the video now.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and commenting. Thank you for the compliment on the images. Suzanne drew the people and the cake. I used basic shapes to make the church and products. Have a great day.
DeleteGreat answers. I agree - Peace is way too hard to come by these days.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and commenting. You are right. Peace is a rare commodity these days. Have a great weekend.
DeleteThank you for always participating in the fill-ins, I always enjoy your answers. I am sorry that your foot is in such rough shape though. I hope it completely heals this time.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Thank you and Annie for hosting them. We look forward to the Fill-Ins. Have a great week and thanks for helping us get a little closer to that ice cream with your views.
