Jesus is the Reason for the Season!

For many years people have tried to take Christ out of Christmas.  You will often see a large X in place of the name Christ in many places.  I have heard people say that X was a way of writing the name of Christ, that X actually was an ancient symbol for Christ.

To that I say, Bull Corn!

I remember way back when going to K-Mart in my hometown and seeing a
sign that said, “Layaway Now For…”  I left the store and never shopped in that K-Mart again.  To the best of my recollection, I have not made another purchase at K-Mart since that time.  We have merchandised in K-Marts since then.

It was very refreshing to see the sign shown here at Peace Tabernacle here in Wharton, Texas, the other day.

The saying goes, “Jesus is the reason for the season”. I have noticed that Walmart now has their workers go out of their way to say, “Merry Christmas.”  They have learned that this is good for business.  It would be good if stores would also learn to not push the season. Let Christmas start the day AFTER Thanksgiving.

Merry Christmas, Y’all
