Do you sleep with your closet doors open or closed?
We have two closets in our room. The doors on one broke years ago, so I took them down. The other one is seldom used, so the doors are always closed. Otherwise, it really would not matter to me one way or the other.
Do you take the shampoos and conditioner bottles from hotel?
Absolutely. We have several friends that own hotels. They are not from this country and their thinking on this is a little bit different than ours. The charge for the shampoos and such are built into the price of the room. However, if someone does not use the shampoo, it is left in the room for the next guest.
If you don’t take it, you are wasting your money. If you don’t use all of it, it will get combined with other partial shampoos and left for other guests. By taking the shampoos, you are keeping others from getting someone else’s used shampoos.
The whole idea that it costs labor dollars is lost on them. They figure they are already paying for the person to be there, so why not have them combine several partial bottles to make a full bottle.
If the bottle does not have a seal at the top, don’t use it. Even name brand hotels are run in such a way.
What is your usual bedtime?
There is no such animal. We are retired, so it really does not matter. Suzanne and I tend to be night people (vampires, I guess). We stay up until we get tired. We go to bed when we like. Our Marine is based in Japan, so we try to be up when he is in case he wants to message or Skype.
Do you like to use post-it notes?
We don’t normally buy post-it notes. I keep a pack of index cards on my desk for jotting down stuff. Usually, I lose the card and have to hunt it again.
When was the last time you wrote a letter to someone on paper?
The last time the printer was out of ink, about a month ago. My handwriting is terrible. It has always been bad. I prefer to type letters. I mail letters all the time on paper. But, I seldom handwrite them.
Any phobias?
When we first moved to Texas, I was deathly afraid of snakes. Since running into so many snakes here in Texas, I kind of got used to them. That is until the King Cobra got loose near my mother’s old house. There was a King Cobra and several other exotic venomous snakes living directly across the street from her house.
Since I heard about this, I have been on high alert. The least little prompt will make me jump now.
On a less understandable note, I am also afraid of sleestaks. Do you remember the Land of the Lost on Saturday mornings back in 1970-somethin’?
Well, back then, the television signals were crappy. This meant that even bad special effects looked real. One day, I went to a friend’s house. He and his family went to run some errands. After he left, I started back home. I noticed that no one was out in their yards. I could not see any dogs and I did not hear any barking. The birds were not singing. It was deathly silent.
How tall are you?
This is a very good question. In my senior year of high school, I was measured at 6’ 2”. Most of my adult life, I was measured at 6’ 2.5”. A few years ago, I was measured at 6’ 3”. The last time I was measured at the doctor’s office, I was 6’ 1”. I guess it depends. They say as we go through our day we get shorter since we tend to settle.

This week has been filled with same-o s same-o. I am glad we haven’t had any major problems other than that our oldest daughter has been sick with something all week.
In the week to come, I look forward to finishing a project for a friend and to finishing the How to Manage Your Monkey video I am working on. It takes about a week to make a video.
