Here are the fill-in-the-blanks:

1. My guiding word for 2017 is overcome.

We have a long way to go in 2017.  We need to climb the mountain of getting Suzanne funded for this eye surgery.  We have donations to the cause.  We are also looking into several things that may help fund this for us.  We are waiting on some forms to get started.

2.I have never had a class reunion.

I am in the class of 1980 from Crescent High School in Starr-Iva, South Carolina.  To the best of my knowledge, our class has never had a reunion.  Either that or they had them and did not invite me.  Either way, I have not been to one.

3. Truth be told I am superstitious about ghosts.

I really do believe in ghosts. When we first moved in to McClendon Manor, I had the overwhelming feeling that something was not right.  We had several unexplained events.  I would lose something and speak out loud saying what I was looking for.  Later, I would return to find the missing item right in the middle of my bed.  Toilet paper would fly, windows would open themselves, light switches would turn themselves on and off.  So, I believe in ghosts.  But, our ghost was not bad.

4. Lately, I have been trying to get ahead on posting.

How to Manage Your Monkey is scheduled up to 30 March 2017 and Tuesdays with Gindy is scheduled for all of 2017.  I am doing this because I have a friend who has asked for our help soon.  We don’t know exactly when he will need it but, I want to be ready when he is.

I have been working on writing more of the How to Manage Your Monkey posts so that I can record them.  I usually write the blog posts and then sit in front of the camera and wing it as best I can.  When we get the camera set up, only God and I know what I am going to say.  When the red light goes on, only God knows. You can’t tell that we put as much work into the How to Manage Your Monkey videos as we do.  Each episode takes about a week to write, edit, shoot, make the graphics, and edit the videos.

Well, that is it for now.  We hope you have a great weekend.

If you would like for me to pray for you, please drop me an e-mail by clicking prayer.

  1. You will overcome whatever you set your mind to overcome. Whatever is meant to be will be. We'll be okay no matter what happens. Love you.

  2. David, I have never really believed in ghosts like you see in the movies but there have been times when I felt like another presence is with me like sometimes when I go back to bed in the wee hours after DH goes to work I've felt a form sit on or perhaps rising from the bed beside me. It's a really creepy sorta of feeling but I always dashed it off as my imagination but I there was a deep sense that it was someone I loved - my brother, grandma, grandpa, or mother-in-law. You mentioned not finding things to only discovery them in odd places. There was one time in our early marriage when I found an identical heart necklace beside mine in the bathroom. I picked both up baffled over the mystery. How can it be there were two necklaces in my home? I laid them down and when I went back there was only one. That's when I felt like our dimension crossed another, maybe an alternate dimension with me. Sounds totally sci-fi but it was fun to imagine for a moment. Maybe there is more than the mind can grasp and it will only be in heaven that we truly have an understanding of the things we cannot see or make sense of in this life. I'm saying prayers for Suzanne's eye surgery and have shared the GoFundMe info on Twitter a few times. Hopefully God will allow people who can and will help to see it. Have a good weekend and God bless!

    1. I really believe there are some things in this world that are not of this world. One day I will record some of the stories of Press, our ghost at McClendon Manor. Have a great weekend.

  3. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am praying you get funding or financial aid for Suzanne's surgery. I definitely believe in ghosts too, I have never had an experience, but I have read of so many that have. Have a great weekend. PS: I am going to get back to your course soon. Right now I am finding a way to make money because I currently have none to manage.

    1. I have been working on a post about different ways to make money. It will be scheduled for April. I could get Suzanne to send you the file now, if you like. Just email her and she can send it.

  4. I have several family stories about ghosts. I do believe that there is a supernatural realm. There is much is this world that we do not understand, but I am of the thinking that we are not supposed to understand everything.

Prayers for you and Suzanne. I understand how health takes a toll, especially financially. I have a history of issues, including serious doctor error, which depleted us financially. This was right after Bill lost his 35 yr. career to the economy fall in 2009. That is when he re-invented himself as a trucker. Of course, truckers never make what they are worth.

    1. Truckers don't make what they are worth, that is true. In the past, we have consulted for several owner-operators. I cringe when I see their fuel invoices. What they spend on one load of fuel is more than what we spend all year for gas in our little Zoomie car.

  5. I found out about our last reunion on a Facebook page for all reunions for the high school, and also got an email from a friend, from the last reunion. Once you get on a list, you hear about them.

    1. I don't know if our class ever had a reunion. I am still in touch with those few people who mattered to me from high school. The rest, I could not even pick them out of a line up if I had to. Have a great weekend.

  6. I don't know that I have ever had an encounter with a ghost. I had two eye surgeries in the last two years. I am fortunate to have good insurance and a wonderful doctor. I will be praying for y'all.

    1. Thank you for your prayers and for stopping by and commenting. If you have ever had an encounter with a ghost, most likely you would have thought to yourself, "how odd". Have a great weekend.

  7. I wish you luck! Every time I read about Suzanne eye issues I am just so thankful I live in Canada where healthcare is free. You are strong people and I am sure you will make the best of things. Best of luck!

  8. I have definitely been inside a house where I felt something was not right. I don't know if you call is spirits, or ghosts, or whatever, but I know I felt some kind of presence there --- so I tend to think there most certainly exists things beyond our understanding.

    1. I have had some overwhelming feelings in different houses we have lived in. I always felt like the ghost in McClendon Manor was a nice one.
