Tuesdays with Gindy/. Driving

I have a friend from Bangladesh who has not yet caught on to all of our laws. One day, he got pulled over for doing eighty miles per hour in a school zone during the school zone times.  You know, when the lights are flashing to tell you to slow down.

He showed me his ticket and asked if I had any idea how much he was going to have to pay for the ticket.  I told him I did not know, but that the judge should probably lock him up and throw away the key.

He responded “David, don’t be mean. The kids should all be in their class, not in the street.”

Later, my child-bride Suzanne and I got behind him as he was driving through town. When he came to a red light, he would drive right through.   He did not even tap his brakes.

I asked him about it later and he said, “I never stop at red lights.  I taught my daughters to drive and they do the same thing; they never stop at red lights.”

Another time we were behind him and he stopped at a green light.  Later, I asked him why he did that.  He responded, “Because one of my daughters might be crossing the other way."
