Here are the fill-ins:
I don’t understand why Miley Cyrus is so popular.
Actually, I do. She became famous on her father’s shirttail. She is talented, that is true. The problem is there are so many other young people out there dying to get a shot at the big time who are more talented.
Meanwhile, Miley has done every nasty thing one can think of to stay in the public eye.
Bad behavior seems to be the method of choice for has been actors. It appears that bad publicity is better than being forgotten about by the public. Has beens are often in the news having shoplifted, or had a fight with the police, etc. We make these people by watching them on television or in the movies. While they are at the top of their game, many will see their fans as a nuisance. Then, when the audience is gone, they don’t know how to cope.
My in case of emergency person is Suzanne.
There really isn’t anyone else to contact. Our daughters are away at college
with no transportation. Our sons are both off in the military with wives to tend to. All we’ve got is each other.
For both of us, our families are hundreds of miles away and could not help.
There is so much stupidity in the world!
We see this all the time. Not too long ago, I had to call a state agency for one of our friends who has a small business. English is a second language for him so, he asked me to call for him.
He had paid a filing fee for a registration with the state. The person on the phone did not know anything. When I told her the bank cancelled the check on such and such a day, she replied, “I don’t know why your bank canceled your check.” I had to explain to her that here on earth the term “cancelled check” meant that the bank paid the check on behalf of the account holder and cancelled the obligation of the check writer to pay further.
When I was in a nursing home, it took three nurses, a pharmacy technician, and a pharmacist to figure out at what rate my IV should run.
250 ml over 90 minutes is 1.67 ml per minute. Even a redneck like me can do that math.
I would be lost without Suzanne.
Actually, I would be dead without her. She took me to the doctor when I was sick because of my toe. She and our daughter got me to the hospital when I had the strokes, and she got me to the ambulance when my blood sugar was 30.
Yesterday, I shared with you about the six-pack carriers that are made out of the by-products of making beer. There are edible. We need to get behind the drink manufacturers and get them to switch to using these. Please sign the petition. Thanks.

That is sweet of you to say. I think you wouldn't be lost without me, though. You'd just go to different places. Right now, we're lost together. :)
ReplyDeleteLove you, my Zing.
We are lost but holding hands. I will stop and ask directions. I love you. Zing! Zing!
DeleteThank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. That is scary how incompetent everyone in the nursing home was. I am not a fan of Miley Cyrus, she is too crude. Have a great weekend! PS: Good idea for the 6 pack rings.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I am hoping these six-pack rings really catch on. Have a great weekend.
DeleteIt is sad that we cannot outlaw stupidity.
ReplyDeleteIf we did we would have more people in the jail than out. There would be a lot of cops in there, too. Once we had to turn a fraudulent check over to the police. The copy said, "Every check I have ever seen like this has been bad." I asked his captain, "How many businesses call you when they take a good check?" There was no answer. Have a great weekend.
DeleteI also do not understand Miley Cyrus or her popularity. That is horrible about the nursing home! That is scary about your blood sugar and strokes. Thank goodness for Suzanne and your daughter.
ReplyDeleteThank you for commenting. Yes, the very last place in this world you want your loved one to be is in a nursing home, ANY nursing home. I was talking with a friend one time who said he had been in both a nursing home and prison. He said both were similar experiences except in prison he was guaranteed getting his food every day. It does not always happen in a nursing home.
DeleteI think Miley is popular simply because of her antics. Her dad got her early notice, but she has made such a spectacle of herself. Unfortunately, this Y-generation & Millenial groups seem to thrive on the outlandish, negative generation. The selfies are a good example. *geez*
ReplyDeleteyou and Suz have family near you, don't you? Friends? Church folk?
I understand the IV story. A similar thing happened to me, but it was fluids for a test. They exploded my vein in the process: two techs, two nurses, and a Radiologist. They could not figure our the dosage or speed of it. Lots of blood; a mess!
Enjoy you weekend! Don't get lost!
We moved here back in 2004. When we left, we left all of our family and friends behind. We don't have a church here because, quite frankly, church is different here than we have ever seen it. We do have a few friends, but most of them are getting up in years and really could not come a runnin'.
DeleteWhen I was having my stroke, two paramedics were never able to get an IV started. The ER did get one started. The ER is over 30 miles away.
I don't get Miley Cyrus' popularity either. In fact, there are quite a few celebrities these days whose popularity I don't really understand.
ReplyDeleteAgree about the stupidity. Have a great weekend!
It is sad that her father is actually promoting her bad behavior.
DeleteThere are some "celebrities" that I wish would just fade away. I don't understand the purpose of her remaining popular...she became popular because of her father, and then her Disney show, but I'm tired of seeing her everywhere.

Yes, and it appears that her father is promoting this lifestyle. I once heard a preacher call him "Billy-Ray Virus".
