We read books all the time. Publicists, authors, and marketers send us books all the time and ask us to review their books. We receive these books free of charge. People who submit books and other products understand that they are taking their chances when they send their books or other products.
We were sent a review copy of Lowcountry Boil by Susan M. Boyer. We sure were glad they chose us.
Have you ever watched someone play the shell game or even played it yourself? You know the one. There are three shells. One shell has a pea under it and the other two don’t.
You watch and concentrate and try to figure out which shell has the pea under it. Meanwhile, the shells are moving rapidly all over the place and you just can’t figure out which shell is the right one.
Lowcountry Boil is very much like that. You think you just about have it all sewn up into a neat little package, and then you don’t.
Lowcountry Boil is a very well-written book based back in our home state of South Carolina. If you like whodunit books, you will love this one. You may end up asking yourself, “Who didn’t do it?”.
Normally, we here at Manian Debil Productions split the reading between us. Usually Suzanne reads the fiction stuff and David reads the non-fiction technical stuff. Suzanne enjoyed the book so much that her excitement boiled over and she made David want to read it. This rarely happens.
Bottom line, this book is a great, fun read. It has action, adventure, comedy, romance, and a quirky ghost thrown in the pot, too.
I am not big on fiction. but it sounds good.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and commenting. I am not a big fiction fan either. However, from time to time there comes a book that is just so good, you cannot pass it up. This one is based around places we know. It was kind of like going home in a way.
