Share Your World 22 May 2017

What one thing have you not done that you really want to do?

There aren’t many things that I can think of.  If I had all the money in the world, I would really love to get a small RV and Suzanne and I would travel all over the country taking pictures, making videos, and looking into family history.

How often do you get a haircut?

Have you see my videos?  The answer is not very often.  Back when I was younger, I would get one about once every two weeks.  After we moved here, I really did not have a barber that I liked. Then along came Mr. Vic.  Mr. Vic had owned the local barber shop for many years.  He sold the shop and retired.  Then, he got bored so he went back.  He worked as a second chair barber, which meant that he only took customers that did not want to wait.  SInce he was over 80 years old, very few people came in just for him.  But I did.

At first he offered me a free haircut.  Then, I started using him exclusively.  One day I went in and he gave me a cut.  He had to sit on a stool to cut my hair.  He was very shaky, but I did not care.   It is just hair.

A few days later, he came in the store where I worked and looked at my hair and said, “Who cut your hair!”  He was upset because someone had given me a bad haircut.  I told him, “You did.” He said, “Sorry.”  That was the last time I saw Mr. Vic.  He died a few days later.  We all miss him. We love you, Mr. Vic.

In regards to puzzle what’s your choice: jigsaw, crossword, word search or numeric puzzles?

None of the above.   I am just not a puzzle kind of person.  I do word search from time to time, but I really don’t do many puzzles.

How many cities have you lived? You can share the number of physical residences and/or the number of cities.

I was born in Doravile, Georgia, where I lived on Doral Drive.  We moved to Norcross, Georgia, where I lived on Greenwood Drive.

We moved to Inman, South Carolina, where  I lived on Wedgewood Drive.

We moved to Iva, South Carolina, where we bought and renovated the Preston Brooks Gailey Place and renamed it McClendon Manor.  I went to college at the University of South Carolina, where I lived in my first trailer and then in a beautiful house.

Then, I transferred to the main campus of THE USC (the University of South Carolina, in Columbia, South Carolina.

I moved back to Iva, South Carolina, to McClendon Manor and my chlid bride Suzanne and I got married and lived on East Green Street and then Poplar Street.

Then, we moved to Anderson, South Carolina.  Then to Starr, South Carolina, then to Greenwood, South Carolina.  Then, we moved back to Anderson, South Carolina.  Then back to Starr, South Carolina.  Last, we moved to Wharton, Texas.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week we really did not do anything.  However, I am thankful that my computer did not die.  It looked very much like that was going to happen. Fortunately it worked itself out.

This computer is the one I use to write my reviews on.

This week, we celebrate the one year mark of me being stroke-free.   The first stroke was on May 26.  Today, 22 May, our books are free.  Please see the sidebar.  The graphics might show that it is still 99¢ but once you follow the link it should show as free.  Please get them today while they are free.

We are also looking forward to having more birdie visitors to our backyard so Suzanne can take their pictures.

I can use your help.  As you know, the only way we can keep our reviewer
ranking with Amazon is if we keep our helpful votes up.  Well, a while back, I wrote a review for the book Crazy Stressed.  I marked it down two stars because the doctor, who is allegedly professional, uses the Lord’s name in vain several times.  He also uses quite a few profane words.  And yet, he cautions parents to watch what they do and say because our kids learn more about what they see us do and hear us say than by what we tell them.  Now, we are under attack.  We are getting many negative comments and lots of “Not Helpful” votes.  Please read this review and, if you think it is helpful, please vote helpful.  If not, please do what you think is best.  Thank you.
