Share Your World 5 June 2017

What’s your strongest sense?

That’s hard to say.  I am legally blind, so sight ain’t it.  I spent years with two separate headsets on at a collection agency with a radio tuned off channel, so all we heard was a lot of white noise.  That irritating sound damaged my hearing.  I am a diabetic, so touch isn’t it either.

I suppose since I am a big, redneck, fat boy that my sense of taste must be my strongest sense.

Which of Snow White’s 7 dwarfs describes you best? (Doc, Happy, Bashful, Sleepy, Sneezy, Grumpy, Dopey)

Gee, I thought Goofy was one of the seven dwarfs.  I am always sleepy, so that one would work.  Bashful is out of the question because I don’t have a bashful bone in my body.   Happy and Dopey are also good matches.

If you could be one age for the rest of your life, what age would that be?

21 would be good.  I would be young and have energy.  At 21, one is old enough to make decisions on their own, although most of them at that age are usually bad.

If I were 21 and Suzanne were 18, we would have the world at our feet again.  At that age, we had no real worries, although we thought we did.

List of Jobs You Think You Might Enjoy: Even if you aren’t thinking about a career change, it can be fun to think of other jobs you might enjoy.  [Remember:  This is SYW where even your dreams can become reality.]

I always wanted to be a disc jockey.  I would have a very eclectic mix of music on my show: Gospel, jazz, light rock, country, western, folk, and a little classical.

Since this is a dream, I would like to own my own convenience store.  I would show people how it is done.  When we were working around here at different convenience stores, people would tell Suzanne and me how much they liked coming in when we were working.

We liked treating people like people, not just another customer.  We would offer what people wanted at reasonable prices.  Most of our friends that own convenience stores in our area are from Bangladesh and Pakistan and, quite frankly, they do business different there.  They believe in not marking prices and then haggling over the price.  Most Texans believe in getting the best price right off the bat or going elsewhere.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am always happy to make it through another same-o same-o week.  Last week, we made it through the end of the month and to the one year mark stroke-free.

This week I look forward to the big double nickel birthday:  55.

Today, June 5, is our oldest son’s 31st birthday.  He’s the sailor.  In honor of his birthday today and my birthday tomorrow, we offer all three of our books FREE!!

    1. Thank you. It has been over a year since we saw that doctor. I had to find a new doctor because the one told me to squeeze his hands as hard as I could. Never ask a bonafied redneck to squeeze your hands as hard as he can. He will and, it WILL hurt.
