2017 September's Where I Come From Challenge Day 24

This challenge is based on Kenny Chesney's song "Back Where I Come From".

Suzanne over at PS-Annie! and McClendon villa has included home-and hometown-related questions to round out our 30 days of posts.
Come on and join in.  It will be a blast.
Today’s question is:

24.  Does your hometown have a website? Please share the link.

Yes, it actually does have one.  You can find it at http://townofiva.com/

I was surprised to find it.  I remember years ago when the school district set up websites for the schools.  My good friend Roger Madden made one for the Starr Elementary School.  Our oldest son was at Starr-Iva Middle School, which did not have one.  I volunteered to make one for them.   I asked everyone I could, teachers, parents, students, for input. No one said anything until I had it done.  Back then you had to handwrite all the HTML codes.

Once I had it done people began to complain.  “Why did you do so and so?  You should have done such and such. “

No good deed goes unpunished.

This was back in the 1990s.  I am sure they have updated the sites since then.

  1. They didn't speak up when you asked them to, so they should have just kept their mouths shut after the fact, too, and been happy that someone took the time to create the site for them.
I love you, my Zing. :)

    1. I agree, my Zing! It is sort of like the little red hen that made the bread. No one wanted to help, but everyone wanted to participate in the results.
