1. I  would like to interview long dead relatives.
I know we are not supposed to conjure up the dead.  However, if I could travel back in time, I would love to talk with my grandfather, Robert Bruce McClendon, Sr.  I never met him and it would be good to know a little more about him.  I would love to pick his brain and know what his life was like.

Then, I have my Grandpa Bushnell.  He was a scoundrel by every possible measure you can measure someone by.  Allegedly he rode with the Dalton Gang.  My uncle had a picture of him and Frank James sitting on grandpa’s front porch.

He had 12 kids by my Grandma B.  Then he divorced her, because he got another woman pregnant.  He married the other woman.  Then, without divorcing the other woman, he remarried my Grandma B.  The second time was evidently more of a business arrangement than anything else.

When he married Grandma B the second time, his agreement was he built her a fine house in the city.  On this house he had his bedroom with a private covered entrance.  He would pull up to it with his girlfriend du jour, and enter the house.

He and Grandma B had no kids after the remarriage, but he and his second wife had kids after that.  Also, it is alleged that he had kids by others.

Grandpa B was an excellent businessman.  He built houses and could estimate the job within a few nails.  He was a cattle rancher, owned tourist courts, owned many businesses, and was involved in several shootouts.

The man kept a pair of dueling pistols and was called out multiple times (allegedly) by irate daddies.

2. I would like to be interviewed by  Dan Rather.
I really don’t have any desire to be interviewed by anyone.  However, Dan Rather was born and raised right here in Wharton, Texas.

I figure anything I had to say, I have already said in the videos.  My life is, for the most part, an open book.  Open but not very eventful.  And, I like it that way.

3. Halloween night is just another night here at McClendon Villa.

Suzanne and I will probably stay in the house and leave the outside lights off.  We don’t want trick or treaters any more.  We used to buy candy to hand out to the kids.  But, in all the years we never had one single solitary trick or treater.   We are happy to sit home and eat the candy ourselves.  We did buy some candy to take over to the neighbor kids the day before halloween.

4. Once Halloween is over, we will see if there is any good candy on markdown.

Suzanne and I will be celebrating our 33rd anniversary on November 3.  That is also the first anniversary of How to Manage Your Monkey.

Currently, we have 54 YouTube subscribers.  We are claiming 1,000 subscribers by the end of the year, in Jesus’ Name!

Come be a part of this Big Hairy, Audacious Goal. We are told to claim whatsoever we desire.  I am claiming that, God willing, we will have 946 new subscribers between now and December 31, 2017.  That is only 16 new subscribers a day.  We will do this. See you there.

  1. I wouldn't want to conjure them up, but I sure wouldn't be opposed to them coming on their own...in a non-spooky state of body/spirit.

I love you, my Zing. :)

    1. I agree. If we could go back in time and talk with them, that would be great. I love you, too, my ZIng!

  2. Interesting answers. I would love to know more about my ancestors, but I would not conjure them up, either. Some were rather imposing, I am told.
That is a lofty goal for your video program. I think it is great that you have such a hopeful, positive attitude about this. I hope you achieve it! Happy Anniversary to you both.

    1. Thanks, like the old cliche goes, if you are going to dream, dream big. In this case, it is all God. The goal is so high that there is nothing I can do to bring it about. God will do this for us. Have a blessed week.

    1. Grandpa B was a mystery. They tell me that if he pulled up to the yard and had to get out of his buggy to open the gate, he whipped every child in the yard. Have a blessed week.

  4. It's because i couldn't just narrow it down to one that i chose to interview one person who is still living and one whom i'd love to go back in time and interview. Marked down Halloween decor and candy is fun to look for on the day after.

    1. Thanks for stopping by. I have trouble narrowing things like that down, too. I have a difficult time trying to keep my posts under one million words. Have a blessed week.
