How To Manage Your Monkey: Yard Sale

Yard sale, garage sale, whatever you wish to call it, selling items you no longer need or want is a good way to raise a little extra money.

Clear out the clutter and clean it up a little.  While you are working on organizing your home, you may run across things you no longer need or want, but you don’t want to just throw them away.

Set those items aside and, once you have accumulated a lot, you might want to have a yard sale.

Price the items low, but be ready to drop your prices even lower.  Most areas have people who entertain themselves on the weekends by traveling from yard sale to yard sale looking for a bargain. These people are not happy unless they get an item for much less than the price marked.

We once had a yard sale. We advertised in the paper that the yard sale would start at 7:30 AM.

We had been told to expect people to show up early so we thought we would be ready.  We went outside to set up at 6AM.  However, there were already several cars parked in our driveway waiting for the yard sale.

In about two hours, we had sold almost everything.

This is a great way to get rid of unwanted items and raise a little money to help pay off your bills.

  1. We are off the beaten path so I have never had any luck with a tag sale. I sell some on craigslist and donate the rest.

    1. This sounds like it works for you. Have a blessed week.
