If you are contemplating starting an animal rescue, Rescue Me: Your Step-by-Step Guide to Starting an Animal Rescue by Sandra Pfau Englund, ESQ, is the place to start.
The book itself is not overly long; you can probably read it in an afternoon. That being said, the book contains more in the way of information in the appendix section than in the book. This is actually a good thing.
Rescue Me gives detail about the ins and outs of starting an animal rescue and tells what is involved with starting and running one. This includes a little about fundraising. The author has other books that will help with that, too.
If you have an animal lover on your gift list, you will want to give them a copy of Rescue Me. They may not start one themselves, but they may wish to sit on a board or help organize one later.
We give Rescue Me all five stars. It is easy to read yet informative. I learned about state laws here in Texas that I did not know about, and I had researched them in the past.
We were sent a complimentary copy of this book. We are under no obligation to write any review, positive or negative.
