Here are the fill-ins:

1. I can’t wait to see no one open my gift to him/her.

This year we are stuck in the hospital.  We have very limited computer abilities.  The firewall won’t allow Suzanne and I to share files or even save google docs. There really is no way to buy Christmas presents this year. Even if we could afford them, we have no way to get them.  We can do very limited email on Suzanne’s phone.
2. I have had the same socks for a long time.
3. I would not mind if Santa were to bring me a tablet compter with cell data.

4. On Christmas Eve, I always no always here.
When the kids moved out, all of Christmas changed for us, again.   We have had Christmases with very few, if any presents.  We have always had a tree.  This year, no kids, no trees, no presents.

This time, the news just keeps getting worse.  We first thought I would be in the hospital for six days.  Then, we were told three weeks.  Now, we are told six weeks, so we are looking at getting home 27 January 2018.

I get to keep most of my foot, for now.  We will be able to stay where we are, which is a nice place for a hosptial, for a little while longer.  Then, since we are po people, they may have to send me to a nursing home.

The Marines must pass the crucible.  That is 55 hours with very little or no sleep. They have to go with very little food.  They march/hike 55 miles.  The only way to graduate is to make it to the top of the mountain, on time.   There they are presented with their Eagle, Globe, and Anchor.  Along the way, they are reminded that “The shortest way out is through.”  We keep telling ourselves that, the shortest way out is through.

Have a Merry Christmas.

    1. Thanks Ellen, and Merry Christmas. It wasn't too bad. The service here was terrible for Christmas Day. We have had several good nurses, one outstanding nurse, and two turkeys. Have a great week.
