Here are the fill-ins:

1. The best part of last week was I didn’t get admitted to the hospital.
I know I am starting to sound like a broken record.  Right now my life consists of sitting on my brains in my chair, reading, loom knitting, sleeping, and eating.  And every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday going to the hospital over 30 miles away to get my foot worked on.

Sometimes, if I am a good boy, Suzanne will let me go out to the breezeway and sit there for a while.

2. The worst part of last week was see above.

While not getting admitted to the hospital is a great thing, trying to walk around with wires and hoses connected to my foot is very reminiscent of the time I spent working on the chain gang.  Oh, wait, that never happened.  But if it had happened, I am sure walking with this thing is very much like that.

3. Reading is a Winter project that I will be working on.

So far this year I have read 214+ books.  This is the first year I have tried to keep count.  It works out to about an average of one per day.  Usually I am reading one book for pleasure and another one or two for review.  People would think I was odd, which I am, if they knew the pleasure book I am reading right now is Adam Smith’s An Inquiry into the Nature and Causes of the Wealth of Nations (1776).  I have never been accused of being normal. Suzanne got this free on the Kindle for me a while back and I have been meaning to read it most of my adult life.

The Wealth of Nations is a lot like War and Peace.  Everyone thinks about reading it, but puts it off as long as they can.  Suzanne and I read War and Peace together back in 2012-2014.  It took us a long time because it is a long book and we only read it when we were in the car going someplace a good drive away, that we already knew how to get to.  This is a rare occurrence indeed.

4. A holiday gift that I always buy for someone is nothing.

Each year Suzanne and I try to buy some sort of Angel in memory of our angel baby Dorian Lee.  Back in the day, I would always buy Suzanne chocolate covered cherries.  I don’t do that anymore because she developed an allergy to them.

I have not been visiting many blogs lately and I probably won’t be visiting many for a while.  I also will be very slow to respond to comments.  If you need to get in touch with us, please do so by emailing Suzanne.

By the way, I am writing this Thursday morning.  We actually have snow in the forecast for tomorrow.  I guess time will tell.

Have a Merry Christmas.

  1. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins. I am glad you didn't get admitted too, but that does sound unpleasant to have wires attached to you. No worries about visiting blogs, just work on getting better. That is an impressive amount of books that you read. Have a nice weekend. We are expecting 2 inches of snow, I am surprised you were expecting any.
