Here are the fill-ins:
1. Suzanne keeps me from being too stupid.
Unfortunately this is a full time job for her. As you know, sometimes a good bit of my stupid gets through anyway.
We used to work together at the different convenience stores and it was a real challenge for her to stop my stupid before it went too far.
2. Relaxing is the secret to survival.
Seriously, I just read a book about reversing the effects of Parkinson’s Disease and the secret, in a nutshell, is to relax. Stress can take a huge toll on our bodies and our minds. By letting go of the stupid things people do and say to us and just going with the flow, a person can actually reverse many of the ills that afflict them.
3. A friend helps you move.
A real friend helps you move bodies. I have heard that said before. In truth, a friend is one who lends a hand, without asking why. A friend is that person you can call up in the middle of the night and he says, “Let me find my keys and I will be right there.”
4. Right now, I am thankful for my ohana.
When I was growing up, I had my parents and an older sister and a younger brother. They were my family. Now, we have added new members to our family. We have more family that are not blood kin to us than I can begin to count. I have a “sister” who tells everyone I am her son and she is a year younger than me. She was one of our customers at one of the convenience stores. She is a different race than I am.
None of our blood children have kids of their own. We have grandkids who are really the neighbor kids. No blood relation, but still family.
We have the two fur grandkids, Petra the dog and Martha the cat. They are furst cousins to one another.
A prayer request:
We would like to ask everyone to pray for a little boy named Jackson. He is about 18 months old and the family is waiting on results from cancer tests. Please remember him and his family in your prayers.
Our daughter Maggie has a new blog for her furbaby Martha. You can find it at:
