1. I could really use a lot of prayer right now.

This is always true.  We could all use a lot of prayer right now.  However, we have a friend who owns a business that was hit hard by the flooding after Hurricane Harvey.  To make a long story short, he tried to do what he thought was the right thing to help some of the victims and now is in trouble with a federal agency.  Please keep him in your prayers.

2. Meals on Wheels is a charity that I would like to support.

I think everyone who regularly reads our How to Manage Your Monkey blog knows where I stand on the tithe.  I fully believe that one should give ten percent of their GROSS income to their church. If they don’t feel they can support their church financially for whatever reason, they need pray about it.
We would love to support other charities.  There are so many out there that are well deserving.  However, one should look into the charity before they give.  There is one we were supporting until we found out that a substantial portion of their donations were being used to sue other charities.  That ain’t the way to be.

3. One time, I broke my ankle, and did not know it.

I sat down in a chair at work and when I went to stand up, the pain was excruciating.  We went straight to the doctor’s office after work. They x-rayed my ankle and saw that it was obviously broken.  The x-ray showed it had probably been broken for about ten days to two weeks.

4. I wish that I had known more about personal finance, when I was young(er).

The more I learn while working on How To Manage Your Monkey, the more I realize how much better off I would have been IF I knew then what I know now.

I really can’t fault my parents.  Both of them came from very dirt poor families.  They did not learn about budgeting, etc. The more I learn, the more I find out how much I really should have learned back then.  This is why everyone should teach themselves about personal finance and then try to teach their kids.

If I had known then what I know now, maybe life would not be so much of a struggle.

  1. It's funny that you should mention your broken leg. I just found a play-by-play that Davey wrote the the girls about it. :)
    I love you, my Zing.

  2. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I agree that we need to be sure it is a respectable charity before giving. That was odd that you didn't know you had broken your ankle. I will be praying for you.

    1. Thank you for stopping by and commenting. I broke my ankle back in 2006. So far, I haven't broken it again, to my knowledge any way. Have a blessed week.

  3. The Female Human sends prayers your way. She agrees about responsible charities and that is why she loves to support our local shelter.
