The Questions and the Answers
1. What has been the highlight of your summer so far? (It's still summer people!)
For the most part our summer has been pretty much the same-o same-o.
We have had some car problems, but I would hardly call that a highlight. Other than that, we have stayed home and watched a few things on Netflix like Coco, Meet the Robinsons, Sing and, of course, Moana.
Suz and I usually eat popcorn while we watch the movie. Sometimes one of our daughters watches a movie with us.
2. What do you wish you'd done more of this summer? Less of?
What I wish I had done less of this summer is easy, waiting. I hate to wait on ANYTHING. Instant delivery of a Kindle book is too slow. I hate to wait in line behind anyone for anything.
I wish we had made more videos, especially for From the Kitchen of McClendon Villa because I get to be the taste tester. I also love that it is something Suzanne and I can do together and sometimes one of our daughters joins in.
3. Something you're looking forward to on your September calendar?
I really can’t think of much of anything that I am looking forward to in September. However, sometime in the next few weeks we should get a book about Trump and the media. I do look forward to that.
I also look forward to shooting a cookie video with our youngest daughter. It has been a long, long time since she and I have worked on a project together. After all she has been through, it will be nice to get her back in the swing of things. Pray that it works like I think it will.
4. Best/favorite book you've read this summer?
On average, I read about one book per day. Normally, this would be a tough choice. However, Heads I Win, Tails You Lose: A Financial Strategy to Reignite the American Dream by Patrick H. Donohoe would win that prize hands down.
The best fiction book I have read recently is Purge on the Potomac by David Thomas Roberts. This is a very eye-opening book.
5. Share something positive, encouraging, or uplifting here.
I serve a Risen Saviour. HE can do all things. Without Him we are nothing. It is wonderful to know that He is in control.
6. Insert your own random thought here.
It is certainly sad to see that Hodgepodge is ending. We thank Joyce for all she has done to keep it going throughout the years and we wish her and her family all the best.

Waiting can be very frustrating, especially when the outcome isn't what was expected or intended.
ReplyDeleteI bet you and baby girl will have a blast making that video.
I love you, my Zing. :)
I am sure we will have a blast in the kitchen making that video. I enjoy making them with you, too. I love you, my Zing!
DeleteWow! I am so impressed that you are able to read a book a day. I thought I read a lot! Our granddaughter recently made a video for YouTube on How to Make Slime!! Lol! I don't like waiting either, but I've done a bit of it lately.
ReplyDeleteWell I'm pretty miserable when I have to wait. I'm sad to see hodgepodge go, too. Hope your September is good.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by. Yes I hate waiting to.
ReplyDeleteI'm going to have to look for "Purge on the Potomac." It sounds like it might be right up my ally and if the title refers to what I think it refers to...I'm all for it!
ReplyDeleteIt is wonderful to know that no matter how the things around me may seem, my God has it all under control!
Have a blessed and wonderful week!
