New Friday_Fill-In_Badge

Here are the fill-ins:

1. My favorite font is either trebuchet or comic sans.
It really depends upon my purpose.  This time of year German works well, too.  I used to have a lot more to choose from. That was many computers ago.

2. October is perfect for pumpkins and spooky stuff.
Our daughters are both at least a little goth.  This means this time of year they don’t appear to be as far off center as the rest of the year.  This is also a good time of the year for Ghosts in the Graveyard and Gremlin Guts. We will try to make those over on the From the Kitchen of McClendon Villa side.

3. Where I live, is almost always hot.

We lived in this house two years and did not know it did not have a heater.  Yes, we did have a home inspection. It appears that no one thought that not having a heater should be in the disclosure.  That is how unusual it is for it to get cold around here.

Also, where we live, people are planning a bigger celebration this year of Día de Muertos than last year.  They are also planning bigger Halloweens than last year. Last year, we were still very much underwater and the last thing anyone could do was celebrate.  This year, we have been blessed.

4. I feel very nostalgic this time of year.

My growing up family opened our Western Auto store on October 3, 1974.  It seems that this time of year often takes my memories back there.

Last week’s recipe was Basic Bread.  This week’s recipe is Easy Cornbread.  It is currently in post production.

Have a blessed week, y’all.

  1. Speaking of Día de Muertos, I look forward to creating our ofrenda, as a way of honoring our ancestors.
I wonder if we'll need a heater this year? We're having signs of a fall, so maybe that means we'll get winter, too.
    I love you, my Zing.

  2. Dave,

Autumn does rush in specific memories, mostly of when our kids were small. Sometimes I think about my school days. We're still experiencing warm weather but that will change as the month draws to an end. I'm trying to not rush it but it's hard to not do that. Have a furtastic weekend!

  4. The Tribe of Five enjoys fall too! And my brofur Tucker eats pumpkin every day. Well, it's organic pumpkin powder, but it is pumpkin.

  6. Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! Your answer to #2 made me smile so wide, because I could not agree more. And I, for one, cannot wait for recipes for Ghosts in the Graveyard and Gremlin Guts. Sounds like my kind of treat!
