New Friday_Fill-In_Badge

Here are the fill-ins:

1. I want to make lots more bookshelves for the house.
There can never be enough bookshelves in a house.  If our little Zoomie were big enough to haul whole sheets of furniture grade plywood, and we had a panel saw (and we had much more money), I could make us some decent shelves.

The problem is, I tend to grow projects to a point I put them out of the realm of doable (think Tim Taylor on Home Improvement). I would put wheels on them and make a lot of them.

2. My kids are bothering me.

Not really.  Back when our youngest son was small, about five or six, he was imitating me.  As part of his routine, that I was not supposed to know about, he said, “I need a new house.  My kids are bothering me…” This has become a running joke when he is around.

3. A day in my life always includes prayer.

You had to see that coming.  It also includes rubbing noses with a vampire.  We have a solid black male cat that our daughter named Drac. Drac, which is short for Dracula, loves to walk up to me and put his paws on my leg like a little boy.  He reminds me way too much of Xerxes when he does that. He loves to get up in my face and rub noses. Last night, he rubbed my nose then bit me on the forehead. It was not a hard bite, but it surprised me.  He is still just a baby.

These babies lost their mama way too soon.  She was just a baby herself. She brought them to our breezeway and disappeared. We have not see hide nor hair of her since.

These babies just barely had their eyes open when she left.  Now, they want to nurse on our fingers and anything else that they think is nursable.  We thought about getting them a bottle and giving them some kitty milk, but have not done so.  It is sad to see them try so hard to nurse.
4. Good things happen to those who lean on the Lord.

Like in the Statesmen song, if the Lord says preach, then preach the Word.  If the Lord says “sing”, then you better by golly sing. God doesn’t care if you can’t talk, when He says “Spread My Word,” you should do it.

Moses said, “They ain’t a gonna listen to me (Moses was a redneck).”  God said, “Thow down yer stick.” Moses did and it turned into a snake.  Then, God told him to “Kech a holt of that there snake by the tail.” Moses checked the batteries in his hearing aid and then said, “Do what?”  God told him to grab a holt to the snake by the tail. Moses asked God if he was going to be preaching in the mountains of the Carolinas.

God said, “Naw, Imma sending you over to that there Kyro whats in E-gipted.”  Moses answered Him. “Aight”.

Have a blessed week, Y’all.

  1. I think wall-to-wall, floor-to-ceiling bookshelves would be absolutely wonderful. But, maybe without wheels. haha
I love you, my Zing. :)

    1. You know I gots to have me some wheels. I would put wheels on the cat if he would stay still long enough for that. I love you, my Zing!

  2. Thanks for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. I am glad you saved the kitties, I am sure they are fine without milk now as long as they are eating. Have you looked on craigslist for bookshelves? A lot of times people are giving them away. I know what you mean about projects getting bigger like Tim the Toolman :) Have a nice weekend! XO

    1. We probably could find some free. The problem would be getting them here in Zoomie. We have fit full length 2X4s in him, but I don't think bookshelves would fit unless it is the kind you have to put together. Have a blessed day.

  3. We still have one of the bookshelves that Grampa made centuries ago.

  5. Thank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! I can so relate to the bookshelf situation. I have tons of bookshelves, but somehow still need more of them to fit all my books. My dad has made bookshelves for me, and I will always prefer those over store-bought bookshelves. I pray every day as well, though I am guilty of sometimes cutting it short and need to get far better about my daily spiritual time. Your sweet kitties sound so much like the litter of kittens my family rescued almost 5 years ago. They were so tiny when we got them, and they all stayed in the family. I have the runt of the bunch, my sweet little Thimble. Have a blessed day!
