Friday Fill-Ins - 17 June 2016
This is a fun meme co-hosted by McGuffy's Reader and 15 and Meowing. Be sure to visit and join in the fun!
Here are this week's statements with the blanks:
Week 6: June 17, 2016...
1. The best brand of mayonnaise_ is Duke’s. Back home in South Carolina whenever a woman writes a recipe, she will write the name Duke’s wherever there is a place to add mayonnaise. Most people in the South understand that there is no substitute. This goes great in deviled eggs.
2. I refuse to buy clothes unless there is a sale or a coupon. There is really no reason for clothing to cost as much as it does. Why would anyone pay extra just for a designer label?
3. I am inspired by stories of how people have overcome insurmountable odds. When I think about the story of the television marathon, I think the odds were stacked against us but we still came through. Other stories where people had no choice, but when the going got tough the tough got going inspire me.
4. Whenever I breathe, I hope. This is the state motto of South Carolina and one of our family mottos as well. "When I breathe, I hope" says a lot. As long as there is a breath of life in my body, I know I can do whatever I set my mind to.
A quick reminder: Not this Sunday but the next one, in honor of our baby child’s twenty-first birthday, we will offer all three of our books free though Amazon. Shattered, Is Homeschooling(or is it Home Schooling?) Right for You?, and How To Pay Off Your Debt will all be free Sunday. Please download them free on us, read them, and give us your honest feedback. If you will, please leave an honest review on Amazon. Thank you.

You are determined and I know that you will beat this thing and fully recover from your strokes. I love you.
ReplyDeleteThank you. I will defeat this with you by my side.
DeleteThank you for visiting my blog earlier! I really enjoyed learning about Jif the elephant that belonged to your angel Xerxes.
ReplyDeleteAnd your fill-ins are great. I don't think I've ever tried Duke's mayonnaise - I'll have to remedy that!
Have a wonderful day!
You're welcome. Thank you for stopping by here, too.
DeleteLet us know what you think of Duke's when you try it.
Have a great day.
Great answers!
ReplyDeleteThank you and thanks for stopping by.

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins. I enjoyed your answers. I have never heard of that Mayo, but now I want some. I agree about the clothes, I don't care about designers, I just want to be comfortable. I will spread the word about your free books and I will definitely take advantage of the offer. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteThank you. If you try Duke's, let us know what you think of it.
DeleteThank you for stopping by and also for spreading the word about our free books. Please be sure to leave us a review once you read them.
Have a great day.
Some regional food brands Are the very best. It sounds like Duke's is! I love devilled eggs! :-) I agree about designer labels, what a wasye of money!! I love your motto, it is hope thst keeps us going when life is hard! Great answers!
ReplyDeleteIt is the best! No matter how many deviled eggs Suzanne gives me, I will eat them all. She could make 3 dozen and I'd gladly eat them all. I'd probably have another stroke from all the cholesterol. I have no self-control when it comes to deviled eggs.
DeleteThank you for stopping by. Have a great day.
I agree with #1 and #2 and like your #3 and #4. I use Duke's too!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteHave a great weekend.
I grew up in the north and we always had Kraft mayo but when I moved to South Carolina I learned the best mayo is Duke's without a doubt. Still don't care for okra and cannot stand boiled peanuts though.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you not liking okra. Try it fried. Maybe it's an acquired taste. Thank you for commenting.
DeleteI LOVE THIS! What a great video! I just love creative thinking and deliveries of it that draw you in. You did just that. great answer, too. My roots are all southern. I am first generation northerner. I know what you mean about using brand names for foods like mayo. Amen to inspiring people. I am not an optimist, but rather a realist. However, I love your answer, "Whenever I breathe, I hope."
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy your answers and appreciate you joining in on Friendly Fill-Ins. Thank you! Hugs!
Thank you very much for watching. I appreciate all of the good comments. I look forward each week to the new questions/statements. Have a great day.
