Word High July for 18 July 2016 Word Paraluman

Click here to learn more about this blogging challenge.

Today’s word is Paraluman. This word means an artistic muse.   I have a hard time with this one because I don’t have an artistic bone in my body.  In fact, I am about as anti-artistic as can be.

Years ago, I took a photography class. Everyone else in the class had comments on the artistic thoughts I had for shots I had taken.  I had no artistic reason for what I did.  I am not a photographer with the emphasis on artistic. I am a picture taker, with the emphasis on technical.

I took one picture of the owner of the local variety store sitting in an old cane bottom chair in front of his store.  I printed it in black and white because it was a class in black and white photography.

The paper I used had a slight sepia tone to it because that was all I had.
The road in front of the store was actually paved, but there were a few loose rocks in front of the store which gave the appearance of an old dirt road.  All of these things that made it look like a photo from the early 1900s were just flukes.

As fate would have it, I was running late for class when I printed the photo in the dark room.  I did not notice that I had loaded the negative backward until I got to class.  It was too late.

The comments from my classmates indicated that I must have printed it backwards to show it was a step back in time.  I did not let on it was an accident.

This August 18th, in honor of my child-bride Suzanne’s birthday, we will be giving all of our books away free.  Please download and read these books.  We have had to change the way we make money here since I suffered three strokes back in May.   We no longer sell Avon door-to door, but you can still buy it on our website at https://smcclendon.avonrepresentative.com.  You can also help us by purchasing things from our Etsy store.

Special Notice

You can help us by downloading our books free.  Then, read them.  Every quarter, Amazon has a contest to determine which 100 authors in the United States have the most pages read.  If we make it into the top 100, we will share a part in a pool of money Amazon sets aside for the top 100 authors.

Please also give us feedback on our books and leave your honest review at Amazon.  We thank you.

A  special thank you to everyone who downloaded our books free recently.  We are on a quest to reach 1,000 subscribers to our YouTube Channel.  Please visit our channel and help us reach our goal, if and only if you like what you see when you get there.   We also invite you to follow this blog.

Thank you for visiting.

    1. I just agreed with what they were saying. I did not lie, but I allowed them to think what they wanted to think. I agree that photos can make a statement, I just can't actually think the way these people were thinking.

    1. Thank you for commenting and the compliment. Some people can see things in an artistic way. Some people, like me, see things in a technical way. As Gus in My Big Fat Greek Wedding says, "In the end, we are all fruit."
