3. This Summer, has been way too hot. It was so hot that our baby daughter really cooked an egg on the sidewalk. She fed it to one of the campus cats.
4. This Autumn, hopefully will be much cooler. We don’t really get a fall here
in Gulf Coast Texas. We have two seasons, hot and hotter. We lived in this house two years before we found out we did not have a heater. One of the stores we worked in never had a heater either. We found out when the Air Conditioning and Heat contractor said, “Did you know your heater was not hooked up? There isn’t even a gas pipe running to it.”

Back home in civilization, we call people that install heaters and a/c Heating and Air contractors. Out here, they call them Air and Heating contractors.
We will be kicking off the How to Manage Your Monkey course on 3 November 2016. That is the 32nd anniversary of the day my child-bride Suzanne and I stood before her Uncle Bobby and vowed to love one another through all of life’s trials. Please join us on that day as we roll out a new course.

Thank you for participating in the fill-ins. I thought our summer was hot, but yours was much hotter. This morning it was 45 degrees and I am thrilled. I look forward to your course.Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by and commenting. On the very rare times it dips into the 70s here, out come the parkas and fur topped boots. These people still wear their shorts year round, but when it dips down into the seventies, the coats come out.
DeleteGreat answers! .... How well done did that egg get & how long did it take?!?
ReplyDeleteI am really not sure how well done she fried the egg. She just cracked it and watched. The cat ate it without any problem, even though it was still on the sidewalk.
DeleteYou made me giggle with your first two answers. :)
ReplyDeleteI would not want to live in a hot or hotter state - I don't like it when the weather's too hot, at least if there's cold weather, you can layer - but when it's hot, you can only take so many clothes off!! That's too funny you lived in your house for 2 years before finding out it didn't have a heater - I wonder if that's the 'norm' for hot locales? Something to ponder! :)
Have a great weekend!
Daily Healthy or Not, Summer and Fall – Friendly Fill-Ins for Friday Fun
It is the norm around here. This one convenience store we worked at does not have a heater at all. It really does not get that cold here.
DeletePart of my childhood was spent in SE Texas. I remember riding my bike on Christmas Day! That was so strange for a girl from Chicago. We never had a heater, either...or AC. Many weekends, holidays, camping/fishing grips were in Galveston and on the Texas City Dike. I loved it! Of course, as a kid, the heat never bothered me. Now, it would, and does!
ReplyDeleteThanks for being a part of Friendly Fill-Ins. We appreciate your thoughts, as always. Sharing and getting to know each other is what this is all about! Have a great week!

I grew up in South Carolina. Back then, 100 degrees felt hot but not as hot as it does now. When I was growing up, we had no A/C until I was 8 years old. It was amazing. Then, when I was 12, we moved and gave it up for a few years. It did not seem so bad back then.
DeleteI'm really looking forward to cooler weather in Autumn, but who knows what Mother Nature has in store for us. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteCooler weather will be good, if it happens.
DeleteBreathing in and out helps me keep my sanity (what there is of it). Doing it under stress is a whole different thing! :-) Yes, this has been a miserable, hot, muggy summer. Way more rain here in West Texas than we ever have, so bad humidity like you have there. I do not love it! I long for cooler Autumn days, and pray for a gentle winter. It does get colder here, but usually not many days of snow or ice, thankfully. We need to get the AC repairman out to check ours, I think it needs freon, not really cooling as good as usual. Maybe I can stall on that 'til Spring!
ReplyDeleteI think we have seen snow here twice in the 12 years we have been here. The first Christmas we had here was the first white Christmas we have ever seen. That was nice.
