Share Your World – 2016 Week 38

Share Your World – 2016 Week 38

Are you a hugger or a non-hugger?

This depends on the situation.  With my family, I am definitely a hugger.

I hug my son and daughters whenever I get the chance.  I hug my child-bride Suzanne whenever possible.

However, with a handful of friends that I have not seen in a long time, I hug.  With others, I would feel very weird hugging them.

What is your least favorite Candy?

I like most chocolates.  I am not a fan of anything like lemon or orange candy and I don’t like those little candy corns that are so popular this time of year.  In my opinion, you could pick up your closest candle and get the same enjoyment out of eating it.

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the word “fun”?

Baltimore.  I hear the word fun and I think of Clair Huxtible talking to her daughter about going to Baltimore and having big fun.

Other than that, I would think that fun would be any laid back kind of day to hop in the car and cruise the back roads, reading a book, or spending time at a great family reunion like we did way back when.

List of Favorite Smells: What smells do you love? Whether it’s vanilla scented candles or the smell of coffee in the morning or the smell of a fresh spring rain…make a list of all the things you love for a little aromatherapy.

Fresh baked bread would top the list.  There is something about it that just feels like home, even though I don’t remember my mamma ever baking bread.  Suzanne bakes it from time to time and it is gooooood!

Coffee brewing.  Not the triple latte expresso fudge mocha cream spritz stuff, real “Cowboy Coffee”.  Once, when I was in the recovery room, someone asked my doctor if he wanted a cup of coffee.  He said, “Yes, with three sugars and three creams” or some such foolishness as that.  I said, “Come on, doctor. Drink it like a man!”  He thought that was funny.

Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

Last week, Select Few, our Marine, was able to email and message for a few
minutes.  It is wonderful to hear from him.  I am thankful for every message from him.   I will be thankful when my daughter finds the rented textbook that just plain disappeared between the dorm rooms.  She moved out of one and into the other and the book just vanished.  It was rented because it was way out of our budget.  Please pray with us that it is found.

I am thankful for another stroke-free week.  I am also thankful for the cooler weather, even though we are in a heat advisory today with projections of the heat index topping 110. That is still cooler than it has been.

I look forward to our upcoming 32nd wedding anniversary on November 3.  We are rolling out the How to Manage Your Monkey course on that day.  Please join us then. Please follow us on this blog and subscribe to us on YouTube. Thank you for reading.

  1. I like cowboy coffee too, not a fan of the flavors.

    1. Around here, the cowboys don't want it fresh. Coffee has to be black, hot, and old enough to vote before they want it. We had a cowboy come in to K.V. Country Store who only wanted it if it was at least five hours old. He would come in and ask, "How old is my coffee?" I would tell him, it is old enough to drive, or it is old enough to vote. I would make him really happy if I told him it was old enough to buy beer.

The flavor stuff is for people who want to pretend to drink coffee.
