Here are the fill-in-the-blanks:

1.     My favorite store is Amazon.com.

There are only a handful of stores in our small town.  We have a Walmart, which is our biggest store.  We also have an H.E.B. Grocery
Xerxes and the Bible
store, Dollar General, Family Dollar, etc.
However, if I had to choose a favorite brick and mortar store, I would have to say Star Parts.

Star Parts is really an auto parts store.  It is also our go-to store for hardware and plumbing supplies. I even bought the parts to make the screen in our videos from them.

2.     An unanswered prayer I am thankful for is _______________________.

I know many people disagree with me when I say there is no such thing as unanswered prayer.

Sometimes God answers, “No.”  We prayed constantly for Xerxes to get better and live.  God needed a great black and white kitty in heaven.  If you look at the video I made called Miracle Prayers, you will see Xerxes praying with me.

Sometimes God says, “Not now.”  There are also times when God answers prayers in a way that we don’t know that He did it.

There are also the times He answers our prayers before we pray them because He knows what we need before we do.

3.     At Halloween, I do the same-o same-o.

We are not really big on Halloween here.  All the kids are grown and, for the most part, gone.  My child-bride Suzanne and I will make sure the front lights are off and we will sit back in the backroom doing what we do most of the time, blog.  We will probably buy a bag or two of fun-size candy that we will eat ourselves.

4.     I don’t believe in the supernatural, because God is in control .
In our lives, Suzanne and I have seen some major miracles.  These are from God and not the supernatural.  We have seen a Thanksgiving dinner appear out of thin air.  This happened after a simple prayer, “God, please.”

I had a wreck with our oldest son Jared in the car.  According to all the laws of nature and physics, Jared SHOULD have been decapitated.  I had just checked to make sure he was in his seatbelt and asleep.  I drove across the road and into an oak tree because I fell asleep at the wheel.

When questioned by the state trooper, who later became the arresting officer, about how he got out of his seatbelt, Jared responded, “A light came down and undid my seatbelt."  He was questioned about this several times and never changed his story.

I have an upcoming blog post called Judge and the Hurricane.  I have not yet posted it.  This tells of the story after the wreck.

God is good.  Our new course How to Manage Your Monkey starts on November 3.  That is our 32nd wedding anniversary.  In that course, you will hear some amazing stories about prayers.  The course is free and, hopefully, ad-supported.  We have decided to let Jesus be the judge as to how successful the course is.  By nature, I watch analytics.  Whatever God does with this, even if we don’t see anything other than 0s on the stats, God will use it to His glory.

We hope to see you there.

  1. I'm positive that it was either Jesus or an angel that undid Jared's seat belt. There is a purpose that he had/has yet to fulfill. He's just lost his way and needs help to get back on track toward that purpose.

  2. I know God is in control of everything. I actually had to look up supernatural and according to the definition, Jesus coming back from the dead would fit the description and I certainly believe that so I believe in supernatural.
    Have a great weekend.

    1. Yes, it appears that my definition of supernatural might not include all that most people think to be supernatural. Suzanne pointed out some references in the Bible that prove her take on it is a better definition than mine.

  3. Amazon.com was my favorite pick too! I love the free and very fast shipping!

I wish that we lived where trick-or-treaters come, I have many happy memories of years gone by with all the little costumed visitors dropping by.

I agree with all you said about prayers, they are always answered, just not always in ways we can see or understand. I pray for God's will to be done in my life, He knows far better than I do what is best for me.

I believe that God created far more that we can see or understand, and perhaps supernatural things fall within this realm. Most certainly he created angels!

    1. I just finished the book, How God Answers Prayers by Elmer L. Towns. Mr. Towns explains how often God answers our prayers in ways we did not expect.

  4. That's so true that there really aren't unanswered prayers, just maybe an answer you weren't looking for, at least at that moment. God is so good!

    1. Several of the prayers people used as examples of unanswered prayers in this fill in aren't really unanswered at all. Sometimes the prayers they cite were answered by God saying, "Wait, I have something better."

  5. I wish I thought of Amazon. That's really my favorite store too. As for Halloween, we are exactly the same way as you guys are! Have a great weekend!

    1. I think the reason Amazon came to mind when I went to answer the fill in was because Suzanne and I just had talked about needing to order a camera battery charger from them.
      Have a nice weekend, too.
In our town we have so few stores to choose from that Amazon is a natural choice for us.

  6. I agree with you about prayers. I think people call them "unanswered" because they are not answered as they ask them to be. But, yes, God knows best, absolutely. I tend to not ask for much, just strength to deal with what I must. Mother Teresa said that god never gave her more than she could handle...she just wished He didn't trust her so much.

    1. I had heard the Mother Teresa statement before somewhere. It is interesting that y'all asked this question. The first section of the How to Manage Your Monkey Course is on prayer. Hope to see you there.
