Wednesday Hodgepodge 21 December 2016

Wednesday Hodgepodge 21 December 2016

1. What's left to be done on your Christmas to-do list?

Nothing.  The only thing on it to begin with was to go to the Island and get our youngest daughter and to get food for Christmas dinner. There is no money for anything else.

2. The Hodgepodge lands on the first day of winter this year. What's your favorite thing about winter?
This year it has been unseasonably cold here in Gulf Coast Texas.   Usually there is no winter.  It might get cold for a few days but typically no real winter.   Back home it was always fun looking forward to snow.

3. In what area of your life are you immature? Feel free to elaborate or not.
Practically all of it.  I, like most men, am stuck in Junior High School   I get the giggles over certain things that really are not proper in polite company.

4. What was the most (or one of the most) important lessons you learned in 2016?

After the strokes, I realized that time is fleeting. Life is fragile and uncertain.  We should do all the good we can to help our fellow man.  We should make sure to let those around us know how much we love them.  Life is too short for petty arguments or drama.

5. It's Fried Shrimp Day...are you a fan? What's your favorite way to eat shrimp? Will there be shrimp somewhere in your holiday feastings?

This one is right down Suzanne’s ally.  She loves shrimp just about anyway she can get it.  We both love it fried, boiled, in a scampi,  or just about any way.

It isn’t likely that shrimp will appear in our holiday meal.  There just isn’t room in the budget for it.   You never know though, something might happen like there might be a major sale on it or something.

6. What sound lulls you to sleep?
It doesn’t typically take a sound.   I drop off very quickly most of the time.  Suzanne and I slept through Hurricane Ike.  It really doesn’t matter on this one.

7. What one word best describes your 2016?
Hectic.  Scary, too.  2016 was a bad year for us.  We have been hit blow after blow medically and financially speaking.   To quote Scottie from Star Trek, “She can’t take much more of this.”

8.  Insert your own random thought here.

I would like to thank all of those who have given to Suzanne’s Eye Surgery GoFundMe drive.   It is amazing the people who have given.  So far, the Marines are kicking butt and taking names.  They are followed closely by a group of college students who have to sell their blood to eat Ramen noodles.  I am serious about that.

It is wonderful that they have given sacrificially.  We wish to thank all of those.  Thank you all for your prayers.  We are following up on a lead that may help but, we have a lot to have to do to qualify for that.

Please keep us in your prayers.  Pray that we can find a doctor that will put Suzanne to sleep for the surgery.  She is very scared right now.

Thank you to all of you who have subscribed to my YouTube Channel.  And thank you for watching the channel as well.  May God bless you and y
