Here are the fill-ins:

1. In the Spring, I look forward to Texas Wildflowers.

Here in Gulf Coast Texas, the prettiest time of the year is spring and the wildflower season.  The bluebonnets are in bloom, the Indian Paint Brushes, and sometimes Indian Blankets bloom.

2. I would love to have no party.

I am not a party kind of person, never have been.  Although I am an extremely extroverted person, I do not like parties.  Suzanne and I threw a couple of parties for our friends right after we got married.  They were fun, but that was a long time ago.

Now, I would rather Suzanne and I throw brisket on the grill, play a little music on the computer while it cooks.  Just Suzanne and I along with our kids, would be the best party in the world.

3. Few know this about me, but there really isn’t much you don’t know about me.

I am really not a complex person.  I like simple foods, simple non-alcoholic beverages.  I don’t like fancy anything.  Just like an old song goes, “I’m just a common man.”

I do, however, knit on the round loom and I collect dolls.  I was once with the Anderson County and Spartanburg County EMS systems at the same time.

I was also a bill collector, loan officer, worked in a cemetery, worked with the collection branch of a local credit bureau, and am a sound engineer.

4. No one could ever take the place of Suzanne.

Suzanne has been my source of strength and inspiration.  She is my anchor and a pretty darn good sounding board.  When my head becomes too big for my hat, she has a way of helping me to get it back down to size.

Well, that is about it, folks.  Have a great weekend.  Also, if you have young’uns, remember The Swan Princess will be in stores March 28.

If you would like for me to pray for you, please drop me an e-mail by clicking prayer.

  1. I think you do an excellent job making the hats on the loom. :) I love you, my Zing.

  4. I've heard that Texas wildflowers are a sight not to be missed! One of these days I'm going to have to visit Texas just to see the wildflowers in bloom! :)

My hubby has the 'no party' preference too - though he does indulge my once-in-a-blue-moon party throwing penchant. :)

I said "Awwwwww!" out loud when I read your answer to #4. You guys are so sweet together! :) Have a great weekend!

    1. The spring wildflowers is one of the best parts of Texas. Blue Bell Ice Cream is our other claim to fame. Our mosquitoes are pretty famous, too. Have a great weekend.

    1. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Texas Bluebonnets are wonderful and very pretty. We used to enjoy parties. Out here in Gulf Coast Texas, it seems that most people out here judge a party by how much and what kind of beer they have. When we were working at a convenience store, we were amazed by how many people thought a one year old's first birthday party was not a success unless it had a bouncy house and enough beer to float the USS Nimitz. Have a great weekend.

  7. You have certainly done a lot of different things. Did you have a favorite?

    1. Retail would have to be my favorite. I like small retail with the belly-to-belly sales, as it is called. Our customers were (and still are) more like family than like customers. Blogging is fun, practically no money, but fun. Have a great week.

  8. I vividly recall the Indian Paintbrushes and Blue Bonnets! And the Buttercups. And the Magnolia! Summer brought the figs into harvest, too. This was all exciting to a Chicago kid.
I am not a party person, either. I am kind of like a cat: sameness gives me security. But, I care an awful lot about others. Hugs.

    1. You are absolutely right, one does not have to be a "people person" to care about others. Suzanne would prefer to not deal with people. She is one of the most empathetic, caring people I have ever known. Have a great week.
