Here are the fill-ins:

1. A prop from a TV show or film I would like to own is  Barnabas’s wolf cane from Dark Shadows.

A few years ago, Suzanne and I discovered Dark Shadows on Netflix.  We watched what they had available on streaming and then they no longer had that available and only had it on DVD.  Watching it on DVD was a pain.  We had to wait forever between episodes.  Eventually we gave up on watching the series.  We no longer have Netflix.

2. My oldest friendship is Dr. Timothy J. Harris.

I have older friendships, but Tim is one of the few that are still active.  I met Tim the summer before my junior year in high school.  Tim was really active in his church and often spent time working at a Christian summer camp.

I often joke that I was Reverend Harris’s practice heathen.  Tim is very smart and very well-read.  He has this way of explaining things so that even this fat old redneck can understand it.

Suzanne and I met the next year during my senior year at high school.

3. Whenever I finish a video, I always talk with Hamlet.

Last year our daughter was working at Walmart and she bought a plastic skull and named it Hamlet.  When she went back to the University of Houston, she left him in the studio.  I started picking him up between sections of the video so that, when I was editing, all I had to do was see Hamlet in the videos and know I needed to cut there.

Along the way, I started making him talk.  It is odd because I never know what is going to come out of his mouth even though I am the one talking for him.

When we were shooting the video for Master Your Cash Flow, Hamlet was talking and said “If you would like to see more Hamlet…” and that is how he got the name C. Moore Hamlet.

Now, he appears at the end of every video, sort of as a thank you for watching the videos.  I think the two funniest ones are Bloody Worms and On The Brink.

Please watch one of those and send old Hammie an email to his email address.  So far, he gets very little email.  But, he has been a hit.

4. The best  thing about reviewing books on the blogs is  all the interesting people we come in contact with.
We have run into many publicists and several authors who send us books and articles to review. We tell everyone NOT to send us books that have the Lord’s name in vain, profanity, explicit descriptions of marital acts, or anything else that would be opposed to the Christian faith.  Authors and publicists know that this will get them marked down to zero stars.  But, we still get books that have these things in them.

Thank you for those of you who got our books free on June 5 & 6.  They will be free again on 26 June in honor of our baby child’s birthday.

She was working security the other day and some girl wanted to fight.
Maggie with Stage makeup
Maggie gave her what she wanted.  Maggie broke two of her own ribs while trying to subdue the girl.  The girl had a broken arm and a broken nose.  Maggie is one tough cookie.  She is doing what she has to do to earn enough money to stay in school.  We can’t help her financially because we don’t have it.  This child has sold her blood, worked security for several celebrities, baked cookies to sell, and anything else she can find to do legally. And still makes the dean’s list every semester.

Maggie does this all while surrounded by kids who are complaining because their parents haven’t bought them the latest smart phone.  Those kids only go to class when they feel like it.  This child will make it.  Please keep Magpie in your prayers.

  1. I think that Hamlet is a great addition to your videos. (Did I say that right, Hamlet?)

    Love you, my Zing. :)

  2. Thank you for these great answers. I bet you could get Dark Shadows from the library on dvd. Where I live, you can order from any library in the region and it gets delivered to your local one, I am sure you must have a similar program. I gave up Netflix, they don't have a lot to choose from anymore.
I saw Hamlet the other day, he is funny and quite unique. That is some cool stage makeup your daughter had on. I admire her for all her hard work, she will definitely make it. Have a great weekend!

    1. We might could do that. Here they call that I. L. L. and it costs a dollar each item. We have done that with books but had not thought about DVDs. Thanks for the idea.

  4. I remember watching Dark Shadows on TV in the 1960s. Classic. Did you see the movie version, with Depp? It is on TV occasionally, especially near Halloween. Have a great weekend! Stay cool!

    1. We have seen some Dark Shadows movies, but old ones. We don't watch any television other than what is on Amazon Prime. It was a good series. You have a great weekend as well. We should only get up to 93 this week, so we should be cool.

  5. I loved Dark Shadows! I watched it when it originally aired (uh oh, I'm dating myself). Hope you have a great weekend!

    1. I probably should have seen it when I was growing up but, that is not something my mother watched. The only "story" I remember her watching was The Edge of Night. It would air and then she and my aunt would get on the phone with each other and discuss it.

  6. I have never seen Dark Shadows. We're planning on going back on Netflix this summer. I'm definitely going to check it out.

You must be so proud of Maggie! I'm very impressed. Great stage makeup by the way!

    1. Thank you. We are very proud of all our kids. Maggie is just having a hard time right now. She got sidelined from security work because of the injury. This also means she can't sell her blood until she heals. This means no income.
