Share Your World 12 June 2017

What do you do when you’re not working? If you are retired, what do you that is not part of your regular daytime routine?

For the most part, everything we do is same-o same-o around here.  Since my laptop died, Suzanne and I are having to share her computer.  This means that we now have to be much more coordinated than we were before.

I read most of the day and then write reviews.  We work on videos when we have a review for something that is really good or if a publicist has requested one.

We work on How To Manage Your Monkey as well.

What would you do if you won the lottery?

The first thing I would do is thank God.  He is the one that gave it to us.

Ten percent of it would go to the church.  Many churches would not accept a tithe based on lottery winnings so, we would have to find creative ways to give.

We have a long list of bills that need to be paid off and we would pay them all off.  We would pay off the car and get its air conditioner fixed.

We would buy some land in the country and build a modest house.

We would consult with a wealth advisor and put the majority of the money in trusts.

Then, we would buy an RV and tour the country and meet as many of the friends we have made via the blogs and YouTube channel as possible.

But the big thing is, if we won the lottery, we could not tell anyone.

What makes you laugh the most?

Me.  I am always saying or doing things I did not mean to say or do.  This means that a lot of the time I have put my foot in my mouth.  Sometimes it is quite funny.

Suzanne can be a very funny person as well.  She has some cute ways of doing things and wording things that are funny.

Playing with C. Moore Hamlet at the end of the videos makes me laugh, too.  Since it is all ab lib, I have no idea what is going to come out of old Hammie.

What is your biggest pet peeve with modern technology?

Most of it is not built to last.  But mainly my pet peeve is the people using it.  We have gotten to a point where people don’t see anything unless it is on a screen.  There are people who are always on the phone.

People watch videos while driving, text while driving, etc.  If you go to a restaurant, there are multiple screens around with sports or music on.  People don’t interact with one another any more.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am thankful we made it through it alive.  I am grateful for a roof over our heads and food on the table.  I am grateful for my child-bride Suzanne and our kids.

I can’t really be grateful for the computer dying.  But, I am sure God has that covered. Maybe He is going to have the T-shirt sell millions.

Maybe He is going to have millions of people watch our videos and let the ads play.

Maybe millions of our kindle books will sell.  Maybe millions of people will buy things using our Amazon links.  I don’t know what He has in store for us, but I do know He has our backs.

Have a great week.

  1. We'll get this thing figured out somehow. I don't mind sharing until we get you another computer and fully back in business. It will be okay. We just need to figure out what to do to make it happen.
    Love you, my Zing. :)

  2. Yeah, I don't like that it is a throw away world today. Everything seems to be needed to replaced, sooner than I'd like to anyhow. Thanks so much for sharing this week.

    1. When we opened the Western Auto store, we started to notice all the Wizard Citation appliances around. That was Western Auto's brand. We would find refrigerators and freezers from many years ago still going strong. Many Western Flyer bikes were still on the job. Western Auto was bought and killed by Sears. We just don't see products that stand the test of time anymore.

    1. That would be nice but it would have to be a miracle. We don't play. "You can't win if you don't play", as they say. When we worked at the convenience stores, we saw tons of people playing each hoping to win. However, most people that win the lottery are worse off after they win than before. There are exceptions.
