BURLINGTON, Mass. – Tuesday is National Take Your Cat to the Vet Day and PetPace, the provider of innovative health monitoring technology for pets, is encouraging cat owners to take a more active role in their pet’s health.
More than half of U.S. cats do not receive preventative veterinary care each year, according to a 2013 study conducted by Bayer HealthCare and the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Attributed causes for the lack of regular feline veterinary care include, public misconceptions about cat health, the self-sufficient nature of cats and the informal methods cats are commonly acquired.
