2017 September's Where I Come From Challenge day 15

This challenge is based on Kenny Chesney's song "Back Where I Come From".  Suzanne over at PS-Annie! and McClendon villa has included home-and hometown-related questions to round out our 30 days of posts.
Come on and join in.  It will be a blast.
Today’s question is:

15.                         When did your family get their first color television set? Do you remember the first show that you watched on it?

I don’t remember the first show I watched on color television.  I do remember that we went to school one day and when we got home we had a color television.  I was probably about 7 years old at the time.

It was an RCA television.  Years later, we would sell a ton of the same brand. After the set stopped working, my father sold the old broken television from our house during the television marathon.

I do remember hearing the tag line “in color” before many shows back then.

Once, my father was in a contest to sell the most cash registers.  The prize was a color television.  That television sat on top of our parents’ chest of drawers for years.
