This meme is called 2017 September's Where I Come From Challenge
This challenge is based on Kenny Chesney's song "Back Where I Come From". Suzanne over at PS-Annie! and McClendon villa has included home-and hometown-related questions to round out our 30 days of posts.
Come on and join in. It will be a blast.
Today’s question is:
3. Were you raised in a town/city or in a rural area? Do you live in the same type of place now?
When I was born we lived in a small community known as Doraville, Georgia. It was suburban at the time, but is now a part of Atlanta, Georgia. Later, we moved to Norcross, Georgia. It was on the outskirts of Atlanta.
Today, that area is part of Atlanta. We once saw an episode of Cops that showed one of the bus stops my school bus stopped at where a guy had robbed some people. Glad I got out before all of this. This was less than a mile from my uncle’s house.
McClendon Manor is/was located inside the city limits of Iva, South Carolina. I could, and often did, walk to the post office, library, city hall, etc., from McClendon Manor. I also walked to work most days. I had a car, but I wanted to save the money for gas.
We live over a thousand miles away from my hometown now.

Walking would ordinarily be a healthier choice, maybe. Considering where you were walking, maybe not. :)
ReplyDeleteLove you, my Zing.
It is too hot and humid here to walk. I love you, my Zing!
DeleteThat is scary to think people got robbed at the bus stop.
ReplyDeleteThe service station was on our bus route about 45+ years ago. I don't know if it is till used as a bus stop.
