Here are the fill-ins:
1. I can’t believe cigarettes are still sold.
When I was younger, my family had a small Western Auto store in Iva, South Carolina. We sold cigarettes starting out at 3 packs for 80¢. Way back then (1974), everyone knew that cigarettes were bad for you. Still, big tobacco is a thriving business.
From time to time the government plays at trying to reduce tobacco consumption. One of the first pieces of legislation Obama signed into law was a tobacco reform bill Taxes were raised on tobacco and the government decided that tobacco companies could not use the words “mild” or “light” in the name or description of cigarettes. I don’t know of anyone who quit or even cut back due to the new tax or the name changes. Do you?
2. I have never been on Craigslist.
I have heard several stories where people were lured to their deaths by people on Craigslist. I know that is not the norm. I just don’t need anything bad enough to want to go there.
3. Going into December, the weather outside is cold for Texas.
We don’t usually get this cold. The weather right now is between the 40s and 80s. Next Thursday night it is supposed to dip down to 38.
These kind of lows are not normal for Texas. We did have an actual snow on Christmas the first year we were here.
4. My current weakness is cheese.
I love me some cheese. I love cheese puffs, mac and cheese, pimento cheese, you name it. From time to time, I will ask Suzanne to put some cheddar cheese in a bowl and zap it in the microwave to melt it for me. I love it this way.
Thank you for all the prayers. I am going to spend very little time on the computer so that I can be good and keep my foot propped up like my doctor told me. Tuesdays with Gindy auto posts every Tuesday and it has posts up through the end of January. How to Manage Your Monkey has auto posts every Thursday up through December 7.
We will be traveling about 30 miles each way to the hospital every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday for a while. We don’t know how long that will be and we don’t know how we will afford to pay for the gas. But, God knows and He has this. Money will come from somewhere.
I think God decided to sideline me for a while so He could show that He is the one who is going to make us reach our goal of 1,000 YouTube subscribers by the end of December. We are currently up to 61 subscribers. This is a big improvement from where we started.
Please keep us in your prayers.

I wish that they would outlaw cigarettes. Unfortunately, that won't stop folks from smoking, or save the little kids who are having their lungs destroyed by selfish parents. Just like with guns, if they are outlawed, only the outlaws will have them. And their children continue to suffer.
ReplyDeleteI love you, my Zing.
People will still find a way to smoke just like the found a way to drink back during prohibition. It would be good if we could stop it. I love you, my Zing!
DeleteThank you for taking the time to answer the fill-ins despite having limited tine on the computer. I am praying for you to heal soon. Great answers, especially #1. I also love me any kind of cheese too. Have a nice weekend.
ReplyDeleteThank you. Have a Merry Christmas. Smoking just does not make any sense.
DeleteI agree about the cigarettes - I've been a cancer nurse for over 20 years and it especially astounds me when I see doctors and nurses smoking.
ReplyDeleteCheese is a big weakness for me and I always treat myself to a huge bag of cheese puffs at Christmas time.
Hope you continue to heal quickly.
We had a really good friend, Russell, who had throat cancer and cancer in both legs. He just could not stop smoking. We will miss him. He was very funny.
DeleteI am sorry that I am so late. Life happens. You are in our prayers.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the prayers. I seldom get in here to the computer anymore. Have a great week and a Merry Christmas.
