My Cells Made Me Do It by Robin R. Hayes

This is not the type of book we normally read.  If we were looking on Amazon, we would smirk and think, “cute title” but that is as far as that would go.

However, we were sent a copy of My Cells Made Me Do It to review and it fell within our normal guidelines, so we read it.  We have to say this is one of the most interesting and fascinating books we have reviewed in a while.

This isn’t the kind of book one just plows through.  One must stop and think about what the author means and the implications of what he is saying.  It is a different world.

The book is extremely entertaining, if one could ever call a book on cellular biology entertaining.  It touches on just about every field in the sciences one could imagine.  It does so in a very intriguing way.

My Cell Made Me Do It is not some long-haired book that only academics can enjoy.  It is a book for us poor, dumb, rednecks who are still fascinated by trying to figure out if the light really does go off in the refrigerator when we close the door.

If you are a science major, this book may very well help you to understand better what you are studying.  If you are the kind of person whose only interaction with a science book recently was to use one to squish a spider, you will love it, too.  By the way, it does work well for squishing spiders, too.  We tried that out.

We give My Cells Made Me Do It all five stars.  We enjoyed it immensely.  You will, too.

We were sent a complimentary copy of this book.  We are under no obligation to write any review, positive or negative.
