Our daughter Maggie has a new blog for her furbaby Martha. You can find it at: https://marthasdailymews.wordpress.com/
Here are the fill-ins:
1. It is great to wake up on this side of the dirt.
After having so many scares that could have ended very badly, I have learned that each day on earth is a gift from God. We are not promised the next minute. We need to thank Him for every breath we take.
2. The best part of last week was waking up each day with Suzanne.
Every single one of us has our trials and tribulations. Way too often we seem to think that everyone else has their act together and we are the only ones who suffer. There are those out there who actually believe that they are the only ones who suffer from stress. I don’t suffer from it, I cause most of it. Some stress I actually enjoy. Is it really stress then? Give me a good old telemarketer and I can have a field day.
But, some stress is not self-inflicted. Recently we have had some things coming that we saw headed our way and did everything we could to mitigate the damages, but they came full steam ahead anyway.
3. Every summer, I burn if I so much as set foot outside our door.
I think this is one reason why I prefer to be up at night and sleep during the day. I don’t like to go out in the sun during the summer. I get sun sick very easily.
4. Once upon a time, there was this polar bear who lived waaaay up on a mountain.
This is how I used to start a silly little story with the kids. It ended with me giving a stupid punchline and tickling the kids. It got to be where some of our kids would hold up their arms, exposing their ribs, and saying, “Once upon a time there was this polar bear” so I would tickle them.
Have a great week, y’all.

Happy Almost Stroke-aversary! Thankfully, it has been a mostly uneventful two years since! I love you, my Zing.
ReplyDeleteUneventful is good. I will try to keep it that way. I love you, too, my Zing!
DeleteThank you for joining in on the Friendly Fill-Ins! You are so right with #1. We all should thank God every time we open our eyes to a new day. And I think your polar bear story sounds like such fun! I always loved the stories my dad used to tell me as a kid.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful day!
