The House of Blood and Tears by Lenore Eidse ISBN: 978-1-5127-6477-2

I, David, don’t like to read of the atrocities committed against the Jewish people and those who tried to help them in World War II. Normally, I would not do so.  I find it just too disturbing.

However, the truth is the truth and it just must be told. The House of Blood and Tears by Lenore Eidse tells the story very well in a very engaging way.

I actually hate to say it but, most of this book is very entertaining.  We learned how a little girl somehow became invisible to the enemy. We see how she was able to hide in plain sight.

This book is over 400 pages long but, you will want to read it without stopping.  This true story just keeps unfolding in such a way that the reader is compelled to keep right on reading.

We learn how a little Dutch girl actually practiced the art of ninja before most of the world had ever heard of ninjas. She was able to move without being detected and was able to help many people because she could.

I don’t want to say too much because that would be a real spoiler, but this is one of those books you just have to read.

We give  The House of Blood and Tears all five stars.  We think this makes a great story for those who want to read cloak and dagger stuff.  It makes a great story for those who love history. The reader will see how some people you think love you will turn on you, while total strangers will display the most wonderful acts of kindness.

  1. It does sound interesting. I love reading books about the Jewish religion, but not about The Holocaust.
