The few, the Proud, The Davey

Davey, Soldier, and Dottie

Today Suzanne, the love of my life, and I watched our youngest son, Davey, go off to the United States Marine Corps.  The picture to the left is of Davey with his two childhood friends, Soldier and Dottie.  Dottie is an elf by the way. I asked Davey to pose like this because I used to tell him stories with Soldier and Dottie as the main characters.  I have a story burning in my heart about this, but it is not ready to make it to paper yet.

Suzanne and I are both very proud of Davey.  He goes by David now and I try to remember to call him that, but it is difficult to remember all of that.

Davey will be off for basic training in San Diego, California for what will be the longest 13 weeks of our lives.

In the mean time, our daughter Whitney will be leaving for college just before he gets back from basic. So that same 13 weeks will also be the shortest in our lives.

Please pray about our finances.  They have been hit really hard as of late due to car repairs.  Caney Creek Church  helped us with two tires on the front of the car.  We still need the back tires. They are both bald and the one on the driver's side keeps going flat. A friend helped us finance a battery for the car.  We had to buy a wiper blade for the car, it needs two, so that we can make it to Houston to watch him swear in tomorrow.  We had a car repair that took us for a loop and we have some health issues that are causing problems as well.

Jesus said "For where two or three are Gathered together in My name there am I in the midst of them." Mathew 18:20 KJV.  We are asking everyone to pray we make it safely to Houston to see Davey swear in tomorrow.  We are also asking that God will bless our finances and help us get everything covered so that we can get Whitney to college in the Fall.

Thank you for your prayers.
