Wow What A Day

observes Pickup Truck
Today was progressing slowly at Avalon Food Mart. Suzanne and I were there and it seemed like the clock was running in reverse. At approximately 8:30 AM, all of that changed.
We heard an explosion and looked out the window. What we saw looked as if the front of a pickup truck blew up.
What apparently happened was that the pickup truck conducted oneof those rolling stops for which so many drivers are famous.
When he got out of the truck, he told Suzanne he did not know the other fellow was going so fast.
The pickup truck had attempted to enter the main road from a side street and pulled in front of a small car that was allegedly doing approximately 80 in a 40 MPH zone.
The whole incident was caught on the store’s
video system. Chances are very good that it was also caught on the video camera of the EZ Lube across the street.
The car ended up crashing into the Cit-Go sign of the Avalon Food Mart. It busted the sign up pretty good. The sign panels will all have to be replaced.
The driver of the pickup truck reported to Suzanne that he was just banged up a little bit. The driver of the car was not so lucky. He had to be taken via Wharton EMS ambulance to the Gulf Coast Medical Center.
Slow down, people; obey the traffic laws. The life you save may be your own.
