1. If you could sit beside and/or jump in any lake in the whole wide world today, which lake would you choose and why?
I would choose Lake Hartwell. It is on the South Carolina/Georgia State Line. I would want to do that because that would mean I was back home where things made sense.
2. What's your favorite 'fruity' drink?
2. What's your favorite 'fruity' drink?
I really don’t go in for fruity drinks but I do like fruit juice. I think probably I would say grape juice.
clean as you go, re-evaluate your relationships (cut toxic ties), unsubscribe (too many blogs and websites), de-clutter, write down your daily goals, reply to emails right away, forget multitasking, create a morning routine, re-evaluate your commitments (which hobbies and responsibilities are most important to you), say no, clean up your computer, and plan your day ahead
Which of the tasks listed do you currently find most helpful in keeping life simple? Which item on the list should you adopt in order to simplify your life this month?
Declutter and get rid of absolutely everything you do not use. Years ago, I read that you should handle mail (or email) only once. Read it, act on it, file it, or throw it away. I do better when I make myself a “to do” list.
4. What did you do the summer after you graduated from high school?
I worked at my family’s Western Auto Associate store and applied to colleges and made plans to attend The University of South Carolina-Spartanburg.
5. Are you a fan of podcasts? If so what's a favorite?
I have seen a few podcasts on the computer but never on a handheld device. I am not that techno savvy.
6. Do you think today's fathers have it harder, easier, or just different than fathers in the past?
It is more confusing nowadays with terms like “baby mama" and "baby daddy” floating around. Once, it was easier to be a parent. Now, you have too many people looking over your shoulder making sure you don’t spank the child or something.
7. Tell us one way you're like your father? Or not at all like your father if that's easier?
7. Tell us one way you're like your father? Or not at all like your father if that's easier?
My father loved to tell stories and so do I. He loved to be the center of attention and he loved his family. We lost him 29 yearsago and I still miss him.
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Fathers’ Day is just around the corner. If you still have your father, tell him how much you love him. A smile and a kind word are better than presents.
Also, not this Sunday but the next one is our baby’s 21st birthday. In honor of her birthday, we are giving away all of our books on Amazon. Don’t pay for our books. Get them free.
I agree with your random thought...I lost my dad in 2006 and I miss him dearly to this day. I know of Lake Hartwell...we pass right over it every time we go to SC to visit my in-laws.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by. We still have in-laws in South Carolina as well.
DeleteSure wish I could tell my dad one more time how much I love him. Lost him to cancer in 1989. Thanks for visiting my blog today! I enjoyed your Hodgepodge (and your child bride's!).
ReplyDeleteI understand. I lost my father in 1987. His heart separated from his aorta.
DeleteYou're welcome and thank you for stopping by here.
My dad passed away 24 years ago. I don't think we ever stop missing our parents. I so wish he could have seen my girls as the grown up women they are now. Every day is precious as we've been reminded of again this week.
ReplyDeletePapa Bruce died 29 years ago. It is unfortunate that he only met two of his grandchildren. He would have loved them all. Our youngest daughter would have embarrassed him to death with her bluntness, but he still would have loved her. Thank you for stopping by.
DeleteI agree with your random thought. My dad died in 1991 and I still miss him. How wonderful it would be to give him a big old hug. Happy Father's Day to you.
ReplyDeleteThank you. It would be great for Suzanne and I to give our dads great big hugs, too. In the past, we missed many opportunities for doing so that we regret now. Thank you for stopping by.
DeleteI also said de-clutter. Good answers!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I have extreme claustrophobia and clutter drives me up the wall. Have a great week.
Deletegood answers
DeleteThank you, shortybear. Have a great day.
DeleteI'm very close to Lake Hartwell, we just moved to Blue Ridge, GA from Atlanta. I love the slower pace and the beautiful weather. Not too humid, warm days and cool nights. The mountain lakes are so beautiful in this area.
ReplyDeleteCheers!
Lori in Blue Ridge, GA
Thank you for stopping by. That area is very beautiful, especially during the fall of the year. We miss it very much.
