September 19 Somethin’ Challenge Day 6
Here we are once again with the September 19 Somethin’Challenge. Play along and have some fun. Okay, so you cut your finger off; it’s part of the fun.
Pop over to McClendon Villa or PS Annie! and see how to play, then answer the questions.
Today’s question is:
What did you collect when you were a kid? Do you know what prompted the desire to collect these things?
My sister collected dolls. I didn’t collect anything to the best of my knowledge and recollection. My father taught us the idea that we boys should travel light. We did a lot of Boy Scout stuff back then and he emphasized that we should be able to carry EVERYTHING in one load.
If you can’t carry it in one load, it gets left behind. That is how I would love to be these days; the problem is, what do you give up? When I moved from my first trailer to my first house, I moved it all in the hatchback of my 1979 Mercury Capri. I moved everything in two trips. I loaded the television, stereo, bed, mattress, box spring, kitchen table, school books, clothes, records, and dog, everything, in two loads.
I think if we had to move again, I would just pile everything on the front lawn and set fire to it.
Now, we collect books. We also seem to collect cats, but that is a different story. Really, they collect us.
See you on the flip.
I didn't have a cat until I got married, but I guess I collect them now :)
ReplyDeleteI don't remember a time without cats, at least, not after we moved out to the country the year I turned 13. We seem to be kitty magnets around here or, as I usually say, we're the Koolaid house for cats. :)
DeleteWas it the PetFinder page that prompted you to get your very first cat?
Collecting cats can be fun. Collecting one of a kind gold coins can be cheaper.
DeleteI think that you did a great job moving in that little car in only two trips. Reckon you could get it back and move this piano in it? haha
