Sunshine Booger Award

1. For the ladies: Are you a girly-girl or a tomboy?
For the guys: Are you a rough-and-tumble guy or do you prefer quiet pursuits?

Stuart on the show Coach once told Coach that he thinks all people are part male and part female.  He felt that he was 51% male and 49% female.  Coach Fox's answer was he did not know, but he was sure he was in the high 90s.

I have had to fight my way out of redneck bars during rescues.  I have wrestled with a drunk Shriner who wanted to rape the girl who had just had cut him.  I think I would have to say rough and tumble.  However, now, due to health issues, I have to settle down.

2. How did your parents choose your name? Do you like it?

My mother wanted to name me a Bible name.  She chose David for me, which means beloved.  And Daniel for my brother which means Turd in the Punch Bowl.

3. What was your favorite subject in high school?

I would have to say band.  I was a tuba player and a darn good one.  Each year I would rate Superior at the Solo and Ensemble competition.   I also enjoyed Drama class.

4. What do you do to pass the time while you're waiting? (At the school, doctor's office, etc.)

I usually take something to read.  However, usually there is a television playing and causing all sorts of noise.

5. Do you live in the city or the country? Which do you prefer?

Both and neither.  We live inside the city limits of Nowheresville, Texas.   I prefer living out in the middle of nowhere.

6. What was your most memorable meal?

I would have to say Herbed Livers.  Another memorable meal was our first meal cooked in our new house after Suzanne and I got married.  She made a salad and baked chicken. It was very good.

7. What was your happiest moment this week?

When I got the Email from Select Few (Our Marine).  It always makes me happy to call our daughter out on the Island.  It is also great to wake up and see my darling child-bride Suzanne and our lovely oldest daughter.

8. Do you have the job that is your life's passion? If not, what is that passion and what is keeping you from doing it?

Yes and no.  I never dreamed of being retired and blogging.  When I was younger, I wanted to be a sound engineer.  That would have involved technical college and my father would not hear of that.   Then, I was offered the opportunity to go to school to be a paramedic free of charge.  My father would not hear of that either.  I went to college and majored in Media Arts.
I am enjoying making the videos.  I am enjoying putting the How to Manage Your Monkey course together as well.

9. What types/genre of books do you like to read? Do you prefer to read via e-reader or a real book?

I don't like fiction.  I love to read books on finance and business.  I really don't prefer one over the other.  I like to read in both formats.

10. What is the most interesting story that you know from your family's history?

Wow! There are so many, it is hard to choose.  If you look back at question 8, you will think the following is ironic.  When my father was growing up, all he wanted to be was an auctioneer.  He would practice day and night just like in Leroy Van Dyke's song Auctioneer.  His mother would not hear of it and she got his uncle, a very famous auctioneer, to talk him out of it.

11. If you woke up with a million dollars in your hands tomorrow, what would you do?

First, I would try to make sure I was awake.  Then, my child-bride Suzanne and I  would get down on our knees and thank God for the windfall.  After that, we would go to the bank and get a cashier's check for $100,000 made payable to Andersonville Baptist Church.

After that, we would sit down and prayerfully craft a spending plan.  We would need to take care of all old bills.  We would invest some in mutual funds.  Then, my child-bride and I would hop in our now paid for Zoomie and head to Edgefield, South Carolina to look for land.
