1. One Halloween, I dressed as A clown.
My mother sewed a costume and she made me up with makeup. It was terrible. I hated the smell of the makeup.
2. My favorite comedian is _quite a few different ones.
I like the Reverend Grady Nutt, Jerry Clower, Jimmy Davis, and Andy Griffith. There are/were many good, clean comedians. There used to be a lot anyway. I try to model the stories I tell after those. Maybe I can get to be as funny as some of them.
3. My scariest Halloween was I got nothin’.
Honestly, I can’t think of anything remotely spooky that happened on or near Halloween. We always stayed away from the spooky kind of things. However, one year, when we lived in Norcross, Georgia, we had a jack-o-lantern on our porch with a candle burning inside of it. A young man thought he would be cute and steal the jack-o-lantern, lit candle and all. He managed to burn himself pretty badly with the candle. His parents tried to get my father to pay for the treatment. My father told the boy’s father, “You probably do need me to pay for it so you can afford to pay for a lawyer to keep your kid out of jail.” It was all dropped right then and there.
4. Ghosts in the graveyard is my favorite Halloween treat.
You take some chocolate pudding and crumbled up Oreos. This is the dirt for the grave yard. Then you make ghost shapes out of Cool Whip. You make tombstones using those Pepperidge Farms Milano cookies.
Our kids love them. We used to make a punch called gremlin guts. It was ginger ale or Sprite mixed with pineapple sherbet and some pineapple juice with lots of pulp. The kids loved it.
I also like the fun-sized Butterfingers. Our youngest loves the Smarties which are hard to find most of the year, but you can find them this time of the year.

I love Andy Griffith! Ghosts in the Graveyard sound like a fun and yummy Halloween treat. Butterfingers were a favorite of mine for many years starting when I was a kid.
ReplyDeleteI agree about church fall festivals!
I like some of his old recordings, such as "What it was, was football". Ghost in the Graveyard is a great anytime treat but is very popular around this time of year. Thanks for stopping by and commenting.

ReplyDeleteThank you for participating in the fill-ins. I guess clowns were popular at one time :) I love the ghosts in the graveyard idea. When my niece was little, I made a similar thing in a sand bucket ( a new one) and added gummy worms and a silk flower. I hope you have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting. Seems there are lots of cool treat ideas for Halloween.
DeleteGreat answers!
ReplyDeleteThis year is NOT a good one to be a clown! One year, I was a mime & totally agree with you about the horrible makeup and its smell.
My sister once gave me some mascara to darken my mustache. The smell made me sick to my stomach. Thanks for commenting. Have a great weekend.
DeleteI couldn't come up with a scary Halloween either. Hope you have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI think it is good that we can think Halloween and not think scary. Have a great weekend as well.
DeleteGreat answers, but I felt bad about the clown costume. I felt bad for you and your mom, really. I love Any Griffth, too. That is one of my all time favourite shows!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by and commenting. The clown costume itself wasn't so bad. The makeup, however, was not too good. Have a great week.
