Share Your World 30 January 2017

What is the most incredible natural venue that you’ve ever seen in person?

This would have to be the Blue Ridge Mountains in the fall of the year.  They are very beautiful and awe-inspiring.  I can’t think of a nicer place to be in the fall.

How many siblings do you have? What’s your birth order?

I am a middle child.  I have one older sister and a younger brother.  It is true what they say about the middle child being left out.  The older sibling has seen it all, done it all, and has the T-Shirt.

If she did good, she was praised.  When I did it, it was old news.  If she did bad, I never got the chance to try.

She had this game she loved to play.  She loved to wait until I came in from
Sandra, David, and Daddy
work.  I would be too tired to walk, so I would sit in the recliner in our den.  She would come in and sit on top of me making it hard to breathe.  I did not know my mother knew she was doing this until years later when she told me about how mean she thought Sandra had been to me.

The youngest child is the baby of the family and if that child does anything, it is amazing.  Typically, the youngest child doesn’t have to do anything.

Once, my father ordered two dump truck loads of gravel for a driveway to a house we had bought to be a rental property.  He sent my brother and me to the house to make the driveway, one shovel at a time.

After several hours of me shoveling gravel with him watching me, I sat on the tailgate of the truck to catch my breath.  I was covered from head to toe with sweat.  Daniel said, “Let me hold your shovel there, David.”  He had a shovel he was supposed to be using, but did not use it.

He picked up one shovelful of gravel and my father drove up.  Pops said, “You boys have made a lot of progress.”  He then drove off and Daniel put down the gravel right where he got it and gave me my shovel back.

My brother had a non-speaking part in a community theatre presentation of the Music Man.  Our whole family turned out to see him.  I gave two sermons at church. Suzanne and her brothers and sister were there to see me, but not one of the rest of my family turned up.

If you were a shoe, what kind would you be and why?

This question is out of my pay grade.

What is the strangest/weirdest thing you have ever eaten?

Take your pick.  I have eaten both wet and dry dog food and cat food.  I have eaten rabbit food as well.  I have eaten goat, lamb, rabbit, dove, and deer.  It depends on how you look at it which is the weirdest.

No matter how weird I get, I will never eat something as weird as what I tell you about in the video below.

Optional Bonus question:  What are you grateful for from last week, and what are you looking forward to in the week coming up?

I am grateful we made it through the week.  It was quite an exhausting week.  This week and the next several will be worse. Suzanne and I need to help a friend of ours with a project.  It appears that this project will take almost our every waking moment from now until 23 February.  Because of this, Suzanne and I will be unable to blog like we would like.

How to Manage Your Monkey and Tuesdays with Gindy have posts scheduled already.  This means that you will continue to see posts there, but will probably not receive replies to comments.  Also, since we approve our comments to reduce spam, you will probably not see your comment posted right away.

Enjoy the Super Bowl.  I was born in Atlanta so, I DO have a dog in THIS fight.  I have been a Falcons fan all while they were rotten.  I have not seen a football game all year, but I am pulling for the Falcons.

Have a Happy Valentine’s Day as well.  Please keep us in your prayers.

If you would like for me to pray for you, please drop me an e-mail by clicking prayer.

  1. I sure hope we can go back to the Blue Ridge Parkway someday and that it will recover faster than predicted. Heavenly Father can fix it. He created it to start with. He can put the beautiful colors back and let us see it again.
