The Questions and the Answers

1. Three things on your spring bucket list? If you don't have an actual list that's fine, pretend you do.

I really don’t have a bucket list.  We do have a “To Do” list. On that list is finishing fixing a toilet.  We live away from a lot of stores. You would think that you could walk into just about any store that dealt in plumbing and find a toilet seat.  We had to order one in. It should be here Friday.
Other than that, we need to install a few more ceiling fans in the house.

2. Where do you find rest? What restores your soul? When was the last time you did whatever it was you answered here?

There really isn’t a “Where”.  I try to meditate when I can, thinking about relaxing things.

3. April is National Celery Month. Who knew? Do you like celery? What's your favorite dish made with celery? On a veggie and dip platter which would you reach for first-carrot sticks, celery sticks, cucumbers or cherry tomatoes?

That is a very hard question.  I like all of them. If celery is not too stringy, I like it a lot.  We love to put Ken’s Ranch Dressing on any of these.

Years ago, we discovered Ken’s Steakhouse Dressings because we were low on money, but still wanted to have a little salad dressing.  I bought a small bottle of Ken’s and found we like it better than any of the others.

4. I read here eight things to do before 8 am to make your day less hectic-Start one load of laundry, drink water, empty the dishwasher, read your Bible, know what you're having for dinner, get dressed, brain dump (two lists-one what you're thankful for and one what's weighing on your mind), and after the braindump make your to-list for the day

How many of these are you currently doing? Which one do you think would help the most if you added it to your early morning routine?

We try to be nocturnal.  We just naturally move towards being up at night and asleep during the day. That being said, we drink water throughout the day and night.  We try to read our Bible first thing and we try to have a family devotion at or near 9PM, which is kind of our morning.

Some days we have doctors’ appointments, so we have to be up during normal business hours.

We often make to-do lists, but sometimes we let the day just go as it goes.

5. Describe the view from your window.

At this time, the view from my window is just darkness.  During the daytime we can see trees in the backyard. Suzanne has a lot of bird feeders back there and there are a lot of birds flying in and out of the yard.  We have many squirrels and an occasional snake or two. From time to time, there is a random pig passing by and, once or twice, we have had a chicken walk by.

6. Insert your own random thought here.

It would be so nice if people could do their jobs and actually be competent.  Unfortunately, our world has reached a higher level of stupid. We have nurses who cannot even do simple math.  On two separate occasions at two separate nursing homes, we had multiple nurses trying to determine the flow rate for my IV.  They ALL got it wrong. The math was very simple. You have 100 ml of fluid that has to run into the body at 100 ml per hour.

The flow meters have settings to show how many ml per hour the patient is getting.   You have settings of 60ml per hour, 100 ml per hour, and 120 ml per hour. What is the proper setting?  Out of three nurses, not one of them chose the correct setting. This is very simple math and really doesn’t require any math. It is sad that no one got it right, including the supervisor.

  1. Nice to learn more about you with these questions. That is too bad about the nurses that were all so incompetent.
