Well, folks, it is that time again. Time for Friendly Fill-Ins. This is a great meme where bloggers like me are asked to fill in the blank with our best answer. Come on and join the fun. You can get hooked up with the meme prompts here. If that link does not work, or if you just have to choose option B because that is the type of person you are, you can click here instead.
WEEK 7: June 24, 2016…
1. My feelings get hurt when_______. This is a good one because my first thought is I don’t remember having hurt feelings in a long time.. That being said, something my child-bride, Suzanne’s Granny said when her relatives would not come to visit her, “To ____ with them." I don’t know that I get my feelings hurt over it, but I hate to be corrected. That is just my way. I like to be the one with the answers.
2. I am excited about_____. This is hard to say when your life is Same-o Same-o, day in and day out. However, I am excited about our Marine coming home to visit next year. It seems like forever ago that we saw him. Skype helps, as does the Messenger on the phone, but it is just not the same. I am also excited about getting to have our daughter home for a few days in August. She is our baby and she turns 21 this Sunday. She won’t be here for her birthday, which is the pits. We also get excited about the memes we post on. We can’t wait for the new list for that week. We are also excited waiting on our tomatoes to produce.
3. _____ first, then _____. The very first thing that came to mind on that was Bill Cosby talking about the futility of having on clean drawers in case one gets in an accident. He said, “First you say it, then you do it.” Then, the years of business school with the “Plan your work first, then work your plan.” That is an old cliché that just haunts you.
4. One time, I got very sick at the beach, that’s why I hate the beach. You can read
more about that in my testimony, but when I was fourteen years old, my sister talked me into going on a beach retreat to North Myrtle Beach in South Carolina.
While there, I had the onset of diabetes. This is why I cannot stand to be anywhere I can’t leave when I am ready. We have to have our little Zoomie car with us wherever we go or I am like a caged animal.
Those times we have had to do without a vehicle while our car was being repaired were pure torture.

This Sunday is our youngest child’s 21st birthday. In honor of her birthday, we are giving away all of our books. Please see our special notice regarding this.
I had to re-enter your link, as it was not working. It seems fine, now.
ReplyDeleteGreat, thoughtful answers. Each one is heartfelt. Thank you for sharing them. Granny's are usually right. I am glad your health was uncovered and is in control. Plans are wonderful if you can have the patience to carry them out. http://random-thoughts-observations.blogspot.com/2016/06/friday-fill-ins-24-june-2016.html
Thank your for fixing that for me. I don't know what went wrong. The link was copy and pasted. My figuratively adopted granny once said that "Dogs grow to fit their feet." The vet had said the dog in question would not top 20 pounds; Granny Madden said the dog would go over 50 pounds. 60 pounds later, Gus was still growing.
DeleteThank you for joining the fill-ins. Those are great answers. I hate the beach too because I ended up with sun poisoning when I was a teen. You have lots to look forward to. I can imagine it must be hard to have a child so far away in the Marines. I have great respect for all military and their families. I will be spreading the word about your free books.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your comment and for your offer to help us spread the word for the free books. The cat therapist in the picture I made is our angel kitty Xerxes.
DeleteI really enjoyed reading your answers as well as your child-bride's. :) I'm sure it will so nice to see both your son and daughter. It's always good to have the freedom to leave when you want and not have to rely on others but especially so in the situation you described.
ReplyDeleteCats do indeed make good therapists!
Yes, I might not want to go anywhere, but the ability to go when I am ready is important. Thanks. The cat therapist in the picture is our angel kitty, Xerxes. He changed me from just tolerating cats to looking forward to seeing him.
DeleteI enjoyed reading your post. Great answers. Have a great weekend!
